It's Been Too Long...

08/25/2010

...Too long for so many things. If I was to write down very single bit that had happened to me I'd be here for the next three hours, and I don't think that bloop will allow me that many words in one entry. I could pretend that there are people who are actually following my diary and write down everything but then... It has been too long. I can't expect that much.

I guess the long and the short of it is that after many months of searching, I have finally found a place. It's quite small and they originally didn't want any pet but I managed to convince the landlord that she wouldn't be a problem. A lie, I know but I so badly need somewhere and maybe the six months I am being given can give me enough time to find somewhere else. So, for the past two weeks, I have been slowly moving things in. Bit by bit, everything I own. Everything is still not over there, even though I'm going slightly mad over not having a television. I wasn't hit as bad as I thought I would be. I thought I would be going mad because of not having the ability to watch anything but somehow...I got through it.

And there was no use for my television for several weeks after I lost my Sky. Since I couldn't even get the original six channels that are supposed to be available for anyone as long as they have a television licence (apparently when they installed Sky, they cut off the connection and I can't figure out for the live of me how to get it back), it's been sitting in a corner being of no use to me. About a week ago I finally managed to find my dvd player and so hooked it up to my television.

Only, two days later I moved all of my dvds to the new apartment, so I didn't have anything to actually play. Or, at least until I discovered that I had left my silver wallet of 12 dvds in a cupboard and so have been slowly going through those. Watched every single one of them at least twice so I really need to move so I can get my hands on my complete collection again.

The big move is tomorrow anyway. There is a slight problem with actually doing it, as no one will allow an animal on public transport, unless it's a guide dog. Completely understandable of course, especially as my cat hates being moved and she would meow the entire time. As I have no car, I am relying on someone being really nice to me and helping me move the cat. That person happens to my sister's boyfriend, who hates me but has agreed that he will. Only problem is that the car that he uses is his family's car and it has a broken exhaust pipe. It's being brought into the shop tomorrow and I am hoping that by the time I finish work, at eight as I am on the Late Late Shift (I hate Thursdays for this reason) it will be fixed. Then I can hurry home, grab the cat and move the cat, my television, ps2 and wii with me as I have been really getting back into my games ever since I lost the use of my television for actual t.v. to the new apartment.

I'm not going to lie. It's going to be a struggle for me, even living in an apartment with so little rent. I barely make a thousand euro a month, and this apartment alone, without counting gas, television licence, television and internet connection and daily living expenses, 600 euro a month. That only leaves me less than 400 to live on and Dublin is anything but cheap. I will have some help, as moving so close to the city centre means that I cut out having to take any public transport into work. And I will have Lidl a five minute walk away from where I live so that means at least my food bill will be cheap. But getting the internet and television is going to be the one that gets me. It's ridiculious how much they charge for just those two things.

If I wouldn't be getting some kind of deal with UPC (I hate the entire network as they've screwed me over before but since I can't get a dish attached to the house I have to go with them) I'd just not bother with television at all. I haven't been missing it as badly as I thought but as I have mentioned before, there is some kind of deal if I go with internet and television. It's still 42 euro a month for the both of them (still high) but no other place can beat that offer and internet by itself is still high even on its own. So, might as well go for it.

But, at least this means that I can move out. My parents need me out as they want to rent it. It's a big house, it has five rooms so that means at least five people sharing, and a nice garden. And they can get at least 1500 a month for it. I can't afford to pay out that kind of money, and I will go mad if I have to live with other people. Past experience has proven that I am not a people's person. And the cat will drive anyone up the wall as she is very much a cat who wants attention, all the time and gets very screechy when she doesn't get it from me.

She is very much a demanding cat.

Spoiled rotten because when I lost her sister, I put all my attention on her because of my grief. I fully know that it is my own fault that she's like this.

There's more to write, but...that will be another entry I guess. I've got a long day tomorrow ahead of me, and I do need some sleep. I guess.

Good night

Kya

Three days in and the cat has settled down. It's a miracle! I've spent the last two days with her and have to work tomorrow but I'm pretty sure that she will be fine! Thank you for your kind words! I'm feeling much better now! More on the next entry when I get internet properly installed! Kya
