Yeah when I go to Panera (a soup/salad/bread cafe/restaurant xD) bloop is blocked for possible "porn" possibilities. I found it quite funny. ^___^

I think this will always be a picky topic. This is a diary site, is it not? Therefore people on here want to express themselves the way they see fit. And if people get offended by it, then maybe they shouldn't be on your fp. So of course, they're not going to sensor themselves. As for the age thing... It's gonna happen eventually. And in my opinion, T.V. is worse than bloopdiary is (but I could be wrong because I usually stay away from the forums).

GOSH, YO - I JUST HAVE TO SAY THIS, NOT TO YOU SPECIFICALLY BUT TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE THIS MISTAKE.

SENSOR IS SOMETHING THAT SENSES SOMETHING. IT'S A NOUN. IT COMES FROM THE VERB 'TO SENSE', FROM WHICH WE ALSO GET THE WORDS 'SENSORY' AND 'SENSUAL' AND INDEED 'SENSIBLE'.

YOU MEAN CENSOR, YO! IF YOU NOTE, THE TITLE OF THE THREAD SPELLS IT CORRECTLY (WELL DONE, THREAD STARTER, YO!)

OTHER THAN THAT, I AGREE WITH YOUR SENTIMENTS, YO!

If we're going to be censoring forum titles then where do we draw the line, yo? Like one of the recent ones is "Texts from last night." Is that too suggestive? It implies late night liasons! Possibly even phone sex! Should this be on the front page for youths to spy? Or is suggestive OK?

i think language should be censored on the frontpage, as the site does state it is for younger viewers, but honestly, the diaries themselves shouldnt be censored unless there are pornographic issues or images that are so disturbing and violent they are really not appropriate.

I was just randomly reading posts in this thread and something caught my eye about teaching kids to spell phonetically. I find it rather odd that it would even cross teacher's mind at school! I mean, not with a language like English, where the written text is NOT what you pronounce! Wow. That's just stupid! I mean, of course the kid would spell "drorings"! Letters and sounds are different. You CAN learn how to spell words through hearing them in Hungarian, for example, because our sounds and letters are equal. But with English? Sorry, now I'm rambling... I was just astonished that they would do that in schools!

I was taught to spell phonetically, I've never had problems with spellings.

I think it would depend on the child. When I was in kindergarten, my teachers said that I used 'inventive spelling' - if I didn't know how to spell a word, I'd make it up based on how it sounded. xD Apparently it was a good thing.

HAHA... and the typos! I can't believe I wrote "ment" instead of "meant". Maybe I should not post to forums when I'm actually in a hurry? :P
