Yesterday, I went looking for the flower that I was going to freeze. I thought I was going to be outside for a while looking because I didn't think I was going to find one. I went to a place that I have found them before, but they weren't there. I went to a spot that is under some power lines which looked like a good spot to find some. It has somewhat of a trail that looks like something just walked through it. I decided to go right and the brush started to get thicker and thicker to the point where I can't even see the ground. There are parts where the brush is over my head and parts where it is around knee to hip height. I hear a sound and see a fox jump out of a bush and go hopping through this field. I thought it was really cool then that I had gone far enough that way and head back. When I got back, I decided to try the other direction. It started out sort of thick, but then quickly turned into a Phytolacca forest, which I had never seen before. As I continue through the forest I notice a glimmer or purple out of my peripheral. I turn to see what it is, and it's the flower I was looking for sitting in the center of a beam of sunlight coming through the forest. I grab a good bit of the vine with the flower attached to help keep enough water in the plant to keep it from wilting. I run back to the car trying to keep the flower from wilting and when I get to the car I stick the vine in a bottle of water to help as well.
I just realized how over dramatic I'm making this sound, and that's really funny to me. Anyway, to keep a long story short. I got the flower back in time before it wilted and froze it in a bowl of water. So now it's ready for her to have. |
