I was under the weather Friday night, both literally and figuratively.
I woke up feeling very blah, but I didn't think much about it. It seems I'm always tired on Fridays anyway so I just took my shower and got ready for work. The small hint of intestinal distress I felt just before my shower didn't clue me in. I never really got in my groove and by lunch I felt pretty miserable. I came home for lunch, ate very lightly, and spent the rest of my lunch just relaxing. I told my wife that I wouldn't be up to going grocery shopping and asked her to do that for me after lunch. I went back to work mainly because I had been scheduled to test-fire one of the sniper rifles for 1000 rounds but there was a problem with the testing and it kept getting pushed back. By 2:30 PM I had all I could handle so I told my boss I was going home early. When I got home I crawled under a blanket and napped off and on from around 3:30 PM until 8 that night. At one point I took my temperature and it was 99.7, not extremely high but my temp is usually low so that was significant for me. I woke up, ate a very light dinner, and went to bed for good before 10:30 PM. My temperature was still 99.6 when I went to bed and I was alternating between chills and burning up.
Thankfully, when I awoke this morning I felt 100% better. No more fever and I wasn't weak any more, but I still had the occasional intestinal distress. I saw that our predicted wintry weather had arrived, in the form of freezing rain and ice coating everything. It was a beauty I could appreciate since I had no plans whatsoever to go out today, not unless I was completely rid of my stomach bug! I was starving though, since I hadn't eaten much the day before so I made pancakes and cooked them. After breakfast I went outside with the camera and took a few photos of the ice:

Brrr!
Most unusual, to have such wintry weather in this area. |
