It's so hot here that the mockingbirds are working the night shift! I'm not joking, last night when I went to bed at a few minutes past midnight I heard a mockingbird singing outside the window.
The current temperature on my north-facing, shaded porch is 99F and yes, the outside temperature that was registering on my car when I drove home for lunch was 118F! And I was parked on a patch of dirt, not directly over asphalt.
