I got a lot of stuff accomplished this weekend, I was pretty busy. I slept later than I intended on Saturday then got up and went out to move a pile of bricks from the side of the house down to the curb so they could be picked up by the trash collectors. While I was on the side of the house I heard water running, when I investigated I found the water heater leaking! After moving all the bricks I started to troubleshoot the water heater, I decided that the pressure safety valve wasn't closing completely and was letting water escape through the valve. I checked the new Lowe's north of me and they had one so I turned off the water heater and connected a hose to it so it could drain. I came home, changed the valve, refilled the water heater to make sure it wasn't going to leak, and turned it back on. I came inside, watched a little of the race on TV while waiting for it to heat up, then once I verified that it worked properly I went back out to the back yard and cut some brush along the back fence.
Sunday I woke up early and carried the brush cuttings down to the curb for pickup then I showered and went out to eat. Stopped in Wal-Mart afterward to pick up a couple of small things then stopped back at Lowe's to get a plastic pipe fitting to reconnect the pressure overflow line to the water heater and get a new wheelbarrow. While there I saw a cute little palm tree that I bought on impulse, when I got home I planted it in the front yard. Then I went out and changed the oil in the old work car, then came back inside to make bread dough. While I was waiting for the dough to rise I photographed some things that I wanted to list on eBay then while the bread was baking I listed them. When that was done I showered again, and now I'm all ready for bed.
I love feeling productive on the weekends. |
