After waking, we got some food supplies and started up the mountain. We're hoping to reach the top by about mid-day again.
After leaving the inn, we were attacked by vampires. They are becoming a problem now and I hope to try and do something about it after we deal with Alduin.
We made it to High Hrothgar just after mid-day and we spoke to the Greybeads. They said that they didn't know the shout but they knew of it, It is called Dragon Rend and it has been lost to time. They said that I need to speak to their leader, Paarthunax, if I want to find a way to defeat Alduin, but he live on top of the mountain and only those strong in they way of of the voice can get to him. They have agreed to teach me the shout needed to get there. I hope my Thu'um is strong enough.
I have learned the Clear Skies shout "Lok Vah Koor". it should remove the mists leading to the top of the mountain for a short time.
It was a perilous journey to the top of the mountain. Not only did we have to deal with the mists, but there were several ice wraiths as well. But we made it and we were surprised to find that Paarthunax is a dragon. I will have to be careful here, in case it is a trap.
Paarthnax and I spoke for a while and engaged in tinvaak. He taught me "Yol" or fire, which is the first word in the fire breath shout. He told me use it on him to see how powerful I was and he was pleased with the results.
I have found out that Dragon Rend was created by the ancient Nords to defeat Alduin and not by dragons like the others. He also said that I need to find an Elder Scroll and bring it to the top of the mountain, where Alduin was defeated before, I may be able to break time and learn the shout for the Nords who created it. I will ask Arngear if he knows where I could find one and if he doesn't know, I will ask Esbern.
Arngear has told me that he doesn't know where to find an Elder Scroll, but the mages in the collage of Winterhold might. We will leave in the morning, but for tonight, we will stay here. |
