We woke at dawn and hope to be in Riften by mid day.
While walking along the road, we met a man named Telrev, who said he was attacked by bandits and his cart ransacked. He has asked us to escort him to his camp in the near by ruins of Nilheim. I have agreed to do so because he has offered to pay me.It was a trap. Telrev was working with the bandits and led us strait to them. We managed to beat them but I am disappointed in myself for falling for this trick.
We ran in to a pair of trolls. It's not very often you find troll in pairs and they were tough. We managed to beat them though and still hope to make it to Riften soon.
As we passed a cave, a couple of necromancers attacked us but we were able to beat them quite quickly.
We seem to keep running in to battles today. We have just had to fight two more trolls, two sabercats, a wolf and a spriggan all at the same time and two more trolls after that. I sware, Tolos must be guiding our arms today because we should surely be dead.We made it to Riften and the guard on the gate tried to shake me down for money, after I told him I know that there was no "tax" for entering the city, he opened the gate and let me in. I guess the stories about Riften are true.
We entered the Bee and Barb Inn in the hopes of finding Brynjolf in there but instead we found a priest of Mara by the name of Maramal. He sold me an amulet of Mara to wear. Now I can find out how Lydia truly feels about me. I am going to put it on right away.
I spoke to Lydia and she saw the amulet. I was right, she was interested in me and we are going to get married. I will talk to Maramal to arrange the wedding.
The wedding is tomorrow and I couldn't be happier. Today I will talk to Brynjolf and see what he says. Tomorrow I am going to be a married man.
I found Brynjolf. In exchange for information on Esbern, he wants me steal a ring from an Argonian called Madesi and plant it on a dark elf called Brand-Shei. I don't like this but I guess I have no choice.
I was successful in planting the ring on Brand-Shei. I feel dirty.
Bryjolf wants me to meet him in a place called the Ragged Flagon in the Ratways to talk about Esbern. I will go see him another day. Today I think I will just explore Riften with Lydia and go to bed early in preparation for our wedding. |
