LOL Work Drama

10/14/2018

Today, I discovered that one of the supervisors directly below me walks around work thinking she's hot shit. I also found out that she just leaves work on all of her breaks when she's the only person of authority there at the time. Supervisors can only leave if there is someone there who actually know how to do the things a supervisor does. She just leaves on her break and hopes that the person there can handle it all. What. The. Actual. Fuck.

I had to write out a list of reminders to all of the supervisors about various things they should or shouldn't be doing. I cannot actually believe I have to do this when they should know all of this already. The only person with an excuse is the new supervisor I just trained all this week. And she follows everything I tell her to the letter. I just don't understand. Hopefully this list wont make her feel like I am singling her out, and if it doesn't work then I have to bring it up to MY boss. This will suck if I have to. I don't want to be that sort of boss to the other staff.

Being a supervisor has it's perks - but often has it's disadvantages. I don't understand how some people can just do whatever they want.

It pisses me off; I worked hard to be where I am. And then this person is given an opportunity, filling my old position, and she walks around the place thinking her shit doesn't stink. She doesn't seem to grasp that she isn't in an easy position. I took the place of someone else who had a lot of responsibilities, and I have taken to it easily. My old position had more responsibility than a standard supervisor, and she isn't able to keep up with the tasks. It's just so frustrating.

I totally get it. I'm in a supervisory role and people just don't understand all that goes into it sometimes. It's incredibly frustrating.

If she isn't following the rules then it's only right that she gets reprimanded. Are you the one that it'll trickle down to if by chance she leaves when someone capable isn't there and someone screws up? I'm sure it sucks but you're her boss right? I say do whatever you feel is right. She needs to realize it's not a game.

I am sort of, yes. I used to work more with her before I took over the position I'm in now, so she was mostly following the rules. But now that she's directly below me, I don't see her. She ends up running the show on those days and taking initiative where she shouldn't be, and then leaving on her breaks when she should be staying inside. I, however, am not the person who does the reprimanding, so I have to bring it up to that person instead. But when she doesn't do things she supposed to, or does things incorrectly, I'm usually the one who hears about it first. Shit rolls down hill, so to speak.

I wish I had a better reply but all I got is that people suck lol. People seem to be great at first and then switch up when they get comfortable.
