Bodysnatchers

01/06/2019

It must be a case of bodysnatchers. Only explanation. Today was kind of surreal for me; the first half of the day went well, if a little tedious. We have to do the yearly paperwork everyone resigns. That meant I spend an hour copying the forms for fifty individuals and then putting them all together for another hour. This was all fine and dandy. I went about my tasks like any typical day. More staff came in to work and then lumches started. And then what could only be described as bodysnatching, or possession, happened. I can't exaclty go into detail, but needless to say, I spent half an hour listen to customers explain how one of my cashiers yelled at them, calling them names, and generally just being a bastard to them. For no reason. Out of the blue. A normally friendly, and hilarious person, he suddenly became someone else. I took down their information, what was said according to them, and then ate my now cold lunch.

At two, when said cashier was going home. I asked in my office what had happend that the situation escalated so much. He told me the exact same thing they did about the yelling and name calling, adding other tidbits that blew my mind. At one point, he told them they had no business leaving their house without knowing the current date. What. The. Hell. Oh and old people think they deserve to just get stuff for free???? I was just completely blown away. I don't understand. I really don't. And I hate that I had to write this all out for the manager, and that I had to get other cashiers to as well, because he performed this act in front of several coworkers and customers. He later tried to make a joke about it and I had to tell him that it wasn't funny, and that if he really hated people that much he was in the wrong job.  I just don't know, folks. Something must be going on at home or something because this is so out of character.
