oh & you might want to edit your title from differences between democrats and republicans to differences between liberals and republicans. there is a difference between democrats & liberals, even if you want to believe otherwise.

glad someone else has said this! I'm in the UK, not the US, but it's still so irritating when people seem to think that democrat, a liberal or left wing in general are the same thing. I'm left wing but I'm not a liberal.

People also think that all Republicans are right-wing conservatives.

Unless he changed it after you commented, the graphic itself already said liberal and republican.

[American|0 likes] [|reply]

yeah the graphic said liberal ad republican when i first commented. That's why I was saying he should change the title of the entry to The difference between Liberals and Republicans instead of it being The difference between Democrats and Republicans.

Ah, yeah. That's true.

Isn't it a bit ironic that you made the rupublican red and the liberal blue? Or do the colour codings for left and right wing not exist in the US, yo?

[Always EstellaStar|0 likes] [|reply]

Blues are democrats, Reds are Republicans here.

Gosh, how odd, yo! Red is traditionally a Commie colour! And here the Tories are blue as blue can be - Maggie Thatcher always dressed in blue!

[Always EstellaStar|0 likes] [|reply]

but red = socialist!! I don't get that at all!

Saying liberals are uneducated is an opinion.. that is based upon lies.. so are you a liberal too then? XD

[rabbit heart|0 likes] [|reply]

Which lies, exactly?

[American|0 likes] [|reply]

Well it's a pretty obvious lie isn't it, you're saying that what, I imagine about half of Americans or whatever the polls are, are uneducated? Like I said before I'm in the UK, not US, so can't affiliate myself with either party.. however if I were in the US I would vote democrat given the possible choices, and I'm not uneducated. The complete opposite, I have a university degree.. and I went to a highschool in the top 10 in the country... and won awards for how high my grades were!

Just because you are educated does not mean it is based on lies.

According to this poll (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/partisan_trends) Just under ~35% of America is Democrat. Take away the true moderate Democrats, and you have what's left: the liberals. Some consider all Democrats liberals, some don't. But if you take that at face value, no more than ~35% of Americans are liberals.

I don't think there is any way (maybe there is) to tell how many Democrats are uneducated vs Republicans, so he is probably not accurate in implying they are all uneducated, but it is impossible to say that it is based on lies, as well.

also you might want to look into how being 'liberal' and 'socialist' are completely different things, with their political stances based on entirely different views of economy and social structures!

[rabbit heart|0 likes] [|reply]

I understand your confusion. Here in the states, 'liberals' are pushing for socialist-like policies, agendas, etc. In all accounts, that would be considered socialist. Also, the graph/pic/chart doesn't say they were socialists, only that they think socialism works (unless he responded to you elsewhere saying that they are socialists).

[American|0 likes] [|reply]

yes but many liberals probably don't think that socialism works, in fact I know many people that are liberal and do not agree with socialism.

[rabbit heart|0 likes] [|reply]

"Probably don't think" is different than "they support things that are." This is why they are classified as liberals. They support sustaining and/or growing entitlements (food stamps/welfare), universal/nationalized/govt run health care, taking money from the rich and giving to the poor (commonly phrased "rich paying their fair share") - all of which are socialist-like policies, if not outright socialist.

The reason I despise socialism in all shapes and sizes is because the "father" of socialism, Karl Marx, said that socialism leads to communism - and we all know how that works.

[American|0 likes] [|reply]

Haha. Irony being bet I'm more educated and work harder than you do! From the way you write I'd be surprised if you even completed high school! Again, lacking credibility!
