Worst Christmas gift ever?

I was just at another discussion board and spent almost an hour reading the hilarious responses to this question: What is the worst (or most ridiculously strange) Christmas/holiday gift you ever received? OR, have you been guilty of "re-gifting" a strange gift to another person? Some sample gifts from the other board include a jar of mushrooms, a George Foreman grill (for a vegetarian), a previously viewed DVD, a yellow snowman sweater "with the eyes placed on the tatas," and a tea set for one.

My own personal favorite from a Christmas past: a fire escape ladder - one for every member of the family! Little did Grandma know that the real gift was the priceless memory of each child posing with their new fire escape ladder in front of the tree. :D

Apart from pens and what not, I haven't really received any strange or weird gifts.

My brother, back when he was into the band Korn (when we were in Elementary school), he got a can of corn with masking tape on it. The masking tape had "Korn" written in sharpie on it.

I've personally never got a weird gift but one year my friend got a flying skull for Christmas. His mom said she got it because it was on clearance ;-D. All he could say was, "Gee....thanks...mom." Hahaha.

here are some of mine:

-a Chia pet. It was not given as a joke, either.

- a boxful of Christmas decorations/candles/etc. that were obviously regifted

- a no name brand digital photo frame that had a big crack down the middle. Pretty sure that was also a regift, and it was from the same people wgo regifted previously. Nice, eh? :-P

my weirdest/worst gift was when I told my parents that I had needed some dominoes for a school project prior to the christmas break, and somehow, they must have thought that I wanted a set of dominoes for christmas, and what do i get for christmas? A brand new set of dominoes. rather nice ones too, but I didn't need them anymore. I still have them though I lost one.

I had an early christmas present this year off a friend. It was an ice tray. Which would have been a dumb enough present. But this wasn't just any ice tray, nuh-uh! This was an ice tray which makes ice cubes shaped like penises!!!!

A.) What kind of guy does he think I am!? And;
B.) What does he expect me to do with that!? I'm quite sure I'd be put off my drink if I were to glance down and discover a few genitals floating about in it!!

I was like, "Gee.. thanks dude!! Just what I always wanted!"

And then my dad found it. And was all, "Errrr.... Ryan, is there anything you'd like to tell us?"

It's going to be a looooong christmas break!! lol

George Foreman grills are ace, even for veggies! I make paninis in ours. Yum!
Anyhoo, never really had a bad gift. I ask for vouchers most of the time to avoid this situation.

Hmm, paninis....I never thought of that! I don't really eat a ton of meat myself, but I'd use a GF grill for something like that!

welll, mine was bad because i gave this person specifically what i wanted, where to find it, and how much it was..but they ignored me.

and got me a photo farris wheel..that doesn't fit any normal size pictures. so, if i want to use it, i'd have to cut off somebody's arm or head in order for it to fit. i was like..."gee thanks..?"

I have a whole drawer at my parents house filled with pointless Christmas stocking gifts. Last year one of my gifts in my stocking was a set of about 6 long teaspoons. According to my mum they're great for getting things out of jars. :-/

She also insists every year on giving me a MASSIVE box of batteries (it usually takes me the year to use them all!).

I wish my mum bought me batteries! Though... not for Christmas hahah.

Oh and the long teaspoons are brilliant for tall iced chocolates/coffees and lattes and stuff ;)
Forks are for getting stuff out of jars :P :P

My grandma is the queen of weird gifts. We look forward to what we are going to get from her every year. We always take funny photos with them too. One year my dad got a hot water bottle. We live in California... don't really need one of those. :P I think the funniest thing she ever gave me was a toilet paper holder. I couldn't stop laughing. My parents just got their package from her and it's in a QVC box. I just wonder what it is.....

Well, THIS year the dud gift in my stocking was a little wooden box which when you opened it a little wooden snake came out... apparently my mum expected it to make us jump, and thought it was something we would use to scare our friends (but really there's nothing remotely scary about it... I don't think even my cat would find it amusing). My mum is a little odd sometimes though.

But at least no batteries this year (and here they're pretty cheap! And I still have most of last year's!).

I've received TONS of horrible gifts over the years. Car Fuses, books that were obviously reused and in horrible condition, old clothes, and the WORST gift EVER...My Dad bought me a single pair of socks one year. That's it. Just ONE pair of socks.

I guess so...but when your father makes almost $125,000 a year...it kinds of blows that he'd put absolutely NO thought into it, ya know.
