Hey guys...

My family has allocated me as the person in charge of desserts on Christmas (oh god help me!)

I am googling recipes, of course, but would love to hear of some of the desserts (with recipes, PLEASE!) that you guys make! These are all year round recipes too... not just winter recipes because it's like 100 degrees on Xmas day here in Australia!

I make a fruit salad, that is super easy to make.
The recipe is
a can of mixed fruit (don't drain)
a big tub of whip cream
marshmellows(you can get the different color ones if you want)
pecans
add a package of jello dont make it just add it for the coloring
and if you want to add Coconut go ahead. I hate coconut so I never add it.
and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours.
My fruit salad is always a big hit and super easy to make.

That's called Watergate Salad. I make it all the time! It's delicious.

I use dry pistachio pudding mix to mix in with the whipped cream and for the fruit I used crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges.

I top it with the dry lime jell-o for the 'green' effect.

My grandmother always makes pudding pies. Probably because they're so simple and cheap to make (and we've got plenty of mouths to feed). Homemade pie crust filled with Jello Pudding (normally we get chocolate and vanilla). Simple, and tasty. I mean, who doesn't love pudding?

And don't forget cookies! Or Pecan Pie. Delicious.

Speaking of easy pies, Bacardi pies are absolutely yummy! You just get frozen Bacardi mix (non alcoholic, of course:P), and a big tub of whipped cream. Mix it together, put it in a pie crust, freeze - total YUM, and VERY easy. You could even try one to see if it fits your fancy before making it for the dinner, since it's so quick and easy.

I got an email from my mom a while back, where all you do is click on the cake you want to make and it gives you the complete recipe. If you want, just send me your email, and I'll send it your way :) I have one for candy, too.

i just made some simple magic cookie bars (: you should try them they're super good.

ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine / butter
1 1/2 cup graham cracker or vanilla wafer crumbs
14oz (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup (6oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups of coconut flakes

prep:
melt 1/2 cup butter in bottom of 13x9 pan
pour crumbs on top of butter
then evenly pour sweetened condensed milk overtop
pour chips over mixture and then coconut flakes; lightly press down
bake in oven for 25-30 mins @ 350 degrees farenheit until coconut is brown

wait until cool and cut into mini bite sized bars! (: enjoy!

^ Sounds yummy, I have all the stuff to try it too, awesome! :)

Here's mine:

1 bag of chocolate chips (whichever kind you prefer)
1 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon butter/margarine
1 1/2 cups of mini marshmellows
1- 1 1/2 cups of rice crispies

prep:
Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in bowl/pot
Mix in a cup of marshmellows, and all rice crispies
Put into pan (non-sticking or greased) and top with rest of marshmellows, push them down slightly into the top of the mixture
Put in fridge and let set (overnight is best) and then cut into squares!

takes about 15 mins to prep and then just let it set overnight! :)
