Hi!!!! Does anyone do diamond art painting? If so, have you sold any of your work? I'd like to pick your brain!

I have about 6 pieces ready to go, 10 keychains, and I am working on my 7th piece with 3 more pieces waiting to be completed (1 is a present so I can't sell that one). I'm not how to price them or where the best place to sell them is.

Thanks!

Hump Day!

Tomorrow is the last day of school for K-12 and then summer quiet is back! Well...at least I am hoping because I know they do some summer tutoring and we don't know if they're going to have summer camp here this year. We had it for years before the pandemic. They are usually right next to us, too. I think tomorrow is Marcin's last day of work before the summer as well.

I just tried to call Mattress Firm to speak to Josh because we never got our free bundle that is supposed to come with our mattress. When you buy a Nectar the company sends you two memory foam pillows, a mattress protector sheet, and a set of sheets. It's sent separately by Fedex or UPS. We never got it and it's not listed on my invoice. When he was ringing us up I know he had to take it out for a moment but he may not have remembered to put it back in. I hope its not too late to order it because we were looking forward to getting it. He wasn't in the office and he is supposed to call me back in an hour. We shall see.

I am really struggling to figure out the best way to sell my diamond art. I was told to get a kitchen scale. I had one but tossed it out when we moved because I no longer used it. It's to weigh the items so I know how much it weighs for shipping. Yesterday I sealed one of the pieces I did. I was nervous because I was worried it would mess it up but it didn't. The edges were still sticky from the glue they use on the canvas to stick the diamonds down but I put sealer along the edges and there are no more sticky spots. It's smooth and shiny. The sealer helps keep the diamonds in place. I wouldn't want them popping out when I sell it. I thought I'd use most of the bottle on the one but I didn't. I have 2 bottles and I think it's enough for all the pieces I have to seal, which I believe are 4 more. I think I'm just going to put it up as ship only on Facebook market and make it free shipping so it looks appealing to someone. I was going to use Etsy but then I'd have to pay taxes on them and I don't know if I'd sell everything (10 key chains and 5 wall arts and 1 in progress at the moment) and it would be worth it in the end. I mean its not like after it all sells I'll quit doing diamond art and never sell again.

I just don't know what to freaking charge! I've been going through Etsy and seeing what others are charging to get an idea. Most of mine are 12 x 16 and they are selling anywhere from $30 - $70 unframed. IDK I feel like I should do like $45 at most for that size. I have one slightly larger that I'd probably charge $55.

We need the extra money for sure. We have to pay off $1,800 for the new mattress and now Marcin's dentist wants to do $5,000 worth of work in his mouth. He needs it but we can't possibly afford it (we have less in our bank account right now). I can't pick up extra hours at work because the most hours I'm allowed to do is 40 per week and I am already doing it. Living in this state is becoming unsustainable. Where would we go though?

Diamond art, I think we are thinking the same thing here.

Are you talking about the canvas' that have a picture on them with colour codes, and you have a bunch of little gems that you have to stick on in the corresponding colours?

I have never heard of anyone actually sell those - I thought the fun of those was to actually do them... interesting.

Facebook Marketplace with prices of etsy minus a little bit I guess?

Yes we are! And yes that is exactly what they are! Some people sell them, I enjoy doing them but I don't hang things on my walls because I rent and I don't want to have to fix walls when I move out lol. I am thinking of trying Facebook Marketplace first and if not, etsy. I already have a shop there.
