I read something in a book last night that said that original eyewitness reports of Jesus said he was a short, balding, hunchback.
Damn Romans! They twist everything!

Gosh, your entries and the drama that ensued were quite fun.

Have you heard of the Westboro Baptist Church? And what they think of Australians (here and here)? I'm still trying to figure out whether these people are for real or whether it's one giant, extremely airtight, hoax. xD

aren't they the "god hates fags" church?

If so, they are unfortunately very real.

Yep Villy, that'd be them.
They're the "thank god for dead soldiers" people.

Ugh

yeah. I also remember seeing something about "god hates goths" that was affiliated with them too, but I never did really find out if it was a spoof or not. It wouldn't surprise me if it was real though.

That "God Hates Goths" website is scary. I think it's a parody, because on one of the webpages for how to beat the goth out of someone, the shit that they do basically would kill you, but they talk like it wouldn't.

The utensils used for beating the goth out of someone are not far from tools used in acts of sexual perversion.

Apparently using the tools of one sin to cleanse another is okay nowadays.

Yeah I didn't really look through it thoroughly. I just remember a thread about it on a forum I was on once.

They are real, and they hate everyone, not just Australians. They stomp all over America (unfortunately, they claim to be a denomination of a church in America, though they are not a church at all) , protesting at soldiers' funerals , memorials for school shootings, murders of college students, etc....saying terrible things happen because of all of our 'sin'. They jump on whatever the latest publicly known tragedies are -and then say it's God's punishment. Counter groups have since been created that often block them from view when they harass soldiers families in particular.

MrsMadeToShine attends a college where there was a shooting that killed several people last year. When WBC claimed they were coming to the memorial services, she and a lot of students organized to be prepared with signs, sheets, and other thing to block them from view (a well as the very loud school band!). Luckily hardly anyone actually showed up to be obnoxious, but it's common for people to do that when they hear they are coming.

Phelps, the crazy leader, became famous for being at Matthew Shepherd 's funeral in 1999 or so. It was a nationally known murder in America because Matthew was left to die, tied to a fence and beaten, just because he was gay. It was all over the news. Phelps showed up at his funeral saying it was God's punishment for homosexuality. A band of sheet covered 'angels' surrounded him and drowned him out as he preached.

The incident is even a scene in a play about Matthew and the murder trial , called the Laramie Project. (which is brilliant).

I've never really noticed the drama until DA came along. I've been happily sitting in my little Bloop corner since 2004, and then all of a sudden the forums came, and then came DA and even I noticed the drama. It's pretty exciting actually. It's made me feel more part of the community, bizarrely.

I do miss some of the great RC entries though, when there'd be like 4 more entries after it, saying how stupid the original entry was.

Ooh, too many to choose from... I quite enjoyed the gun debate myself. That one led to many happy friendships. ;)

OR the obesity vs skinny RC entries. There were some good comments in those ones.

Sadly some of the drama greats have left (Conspiracy Theory for example), and they've been replaced by some annoying little drama-starters who really don't have the talent to create drama properly. They just make themselves look stupid, which, while entertaining, is less challenging to the rest of us. At least people like Tommy could spell and knew how to use grammar properly (even if they did spout total nonsense the entire time).

Have I got that right... was Tommy Conspiracy Theory? Or was that Danny? Who was Danny??

Was one of the The Rugrats Kid? OH, memories... flooding back... he totally attacked me for an entry I wrote about eating disorders, and then later begged for my forgiveness once he'd realised how irrational he'd been!

Danny was known as Rugrats Kid on here. Also as Twinkie King for a while.

Tommy was DecentralizedbyGuilt and Conspiracy Theory for a while.

I still talk to Tommy. Danny I can't say as much for though.
