i was thinking of trying out weight watchers at some point. i don't know anyone from my family or friends who have done this before, so that's why i am coming here :) i just would like to know your opinion on it, if you tried it and how it went for you.

) i heard from others it is very good one friend lost 55 lbs in one year n not working out she raved about it if the provided interpreters I'd join cuz I had no idea what they were talking about when I attended the meetings good luck

My Aunt did it online for a while and has lost 65 lbs over the last few years. Basically cut out added salt, and went from processed food to fresh and cut out white sugar pasta etc and went to all whole grain. She also walks and runs, and does the Wii fit.

I was thinking about joining online, but my husband is skeptical, so I don't know. I really need something to help guide me a little better with food besides it has x amount of calories, grams of fat, etc.

@Mrs. Bailey: That's pretty much all Weight Watchers is, only they take the guess work out of the calories and fat grams and stuff and just call it "points." All you have to do is pay attention to the nutrition label and serving sizes and you can do it all on your own. I've lost 17 pounds already by doing that. I don't exercise that much either (I don't have the time to do it with working full time and school part time nights). I used SparkPeople.com to figure out how to track and actually read the nutrition labels to give myself a balanced meal with calories, fat, sodium, cholesterol etc. So now I don't have to track and even really use Spark People anymore. Best decision of my life... and it didn't cost me any money.

Here is a website for people who cannot afford WW right away. I know it's hard for me to even afford it because of going to college full time and only working two days a week. A person I've been talking to on here gave me the website:

I've been browsing the website and they even have seven day meal schedules on what to eat and how many points you'd use in a day. They also have a free application for your smartphones to use to help you count your points. The websites seemed a bit weird at first, but I just started clicking on random things and found some cool stuff.

I'm sorry, I thought the application for your iphone was free, but it's not. It's $2.99 to download it. I'm not sure how much it would be for the Android users though.

www.myfitnesspal.com is another free website. I've been using it for about a week and like it so far. I've also used Weight Watchers with some success.

@Valerieeeee I love myfitnesspal! I have been using it since Christmas. I completely love it. I have made tons of friends on there and have tons of support. It is is amazing.

i use the Android one and it rocks my socks....Jeff says i'm having an affair with it lol. its the only affair that will get rid of my baby fat though ;-)

I used Weight Watchers for awhile. It REALLY gave me an outlook on how bad foods affected me. I used to work as a night manager at Subway, and would bring home 2 footlong subs and about 9 cookies a night. When I joined Weight Watchers, I had a count of 21 points a day - and the cookies alone would take up 9 points a piece. I would have never thought that the cookies would be THAT horrible lol.
I didn't really lose weight at all - but I didn't exercise like I probably should have.
It did give me a great outlook on food. My point counter became my new best friend. It was like a game, to see what foods were the highest in points, and which ones were the lowest, so the process was fun.
At my meetings, there were mostly elderly women, so I didn't get the support group that one would think about having. The meetings really didn't help - but the samples of food were great!

I use www.myfitnesspal.com also. I like that I am able to see numbers, instead of working on my weight and having to wait a week to see if I had results or not.

The place that I work at did a 10 week program with weight watchers last year and I lost 15 pounds in that 10 weeks. So it does work and it does cost a bit of money.. But I believe they are running a special right now.
