I have seen a bunch of entries of people recording them talking and I saw someone post the "script" for it and I had it backed up in a new entry, but I guess I left it there too long, because now it's gone.
So does anyone have that script? Or where can I find it?!

Where are you from?

Read these words: aunt, roof, wash, oil, theater, iron, salmon, caramel, fire, water, sure, data, ruin, crayon, toilet, New Orleans, route, pecan, both, again, probably, spitting image, Alabama, lawyer, coupon, mayonnaise, syrup, pajamas, caught, orange, coffee, direction, naturally, aluminum, and herbs.

(Eruthros's additions: really, bowie knife, handkerchief, poem, creek, Florida, and basil )

What is your generic term for a sweetened carbonated beverage?
What do you call shoes you wear to play sports?
What is the bug that, when you touch it, curls into a ball?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call the insect that flies around in the summer and has a rear section that glows in the dark?
What do you call the big clumps of dust that gather under furniture and in corners?
What is your general term for a big road that you drive relatively fast on?
What do you say to address a group of people?

Recite this passage:

Please call Stella. Ask her to bring these things with her from the store: Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for her brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids. She can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station.

Thank you!! I think this is even more detailed than the original one I had!

I grew up in Wisconsin but currently live in Florida.

The 'Please Call Stella' one is from the Speech Accent Archive (you can totally submit yourself saying it there if you want, and someone will transcribe it for you). It has all the speech sounds in the English language in it.

And another one, from a British Library project, gets people to say the following 6 words:

Controversy
Garage
Neither
Scone
Schedule
Attitude

There's also a script of 'Mr Tickle' on the site, which you can read too. Although that site is no longer taking submissions.

You totally should! You can start a free account on http://www.voisse.com/ and use that to record your voice.

Gosh, I wish my pre-crash entries were available, because I made loads of memes like this back in the day, to hear the oddities of American speech compared to British speech! ;D I had sentences for people to say, so I could hear how they connect their words! I might see if they're also on my LJ and post them again for all to do!

I think I'm going too.
My mic doesn't really pick up on my voice, so I may just make a video.
