Just didnt like it. The book felt more intense. The fights were junk in the movie. It didn't seem to flow like the book did.

@American: Once the fighting started I sitting there waiting for it & quietly said the line as she did. It is the best line of the entire series in my opinion.

@SoA: Agree that it was the best line. To me, it was totally unexpected and absolutely appropriate. That's what made it so awesome.

@ C♥li Girl :
As well as Snape's "look..at..me.." *sobs*
And I loved it how they added "You have your mother's eyes"!
Think that's the only nice thing he's ever said to Harry!

I saw it on Sunday and I was very happy with it :) Especially the epilogue! I am not sure how they aged the characters, but I was just impressed with that bit of movie magic.

For a KIDS' movie, it was way too VIOLENT and dark!! JK Rowling should be ashamed of herself for making this SMUT out to be a childrens "book"! yet another sign that this country is going down the liberal drain...

it's a parents right to take there kids to see a movie they think their child can handle. this last movie was rated PG-13 so there ya go. You don't like it? Then don't allow your kids to see it. Plain & simple sweetheart.

if you are telling me that this franchise is not marketed toward children, then you are delusional, plain and simple.

I did not say that at all. I'm saying parents have a right to decide what their children are allowed to watch and what they are not allowed to watch. Obviously you won't allow your children to watch these movies, and that is your right as a parent.

@conservative values ... Smut is usual slang for sex... dunno where you're getting your translation from or I'm just not getting a certain part.

Anyways, I actually agree with you. Amazing. I do think it's too violent for young children but you have to think: most kids who read this series grew up with it. My generation did. HP came out in 99, I was 12 then. I'm 24 now. So I think it's a bit of a market towards both, while mainly to the "kids" who grew up on HP. I certainly wouldn't let an 8 year old go w/o some sort of warning but then again, most 8 year olds couldn't read the 7th book.

smut is not slang for sex. it is just a word describing obscenity. thank you for your reply though! i would not have let my grandchildren read the books anyway! i dont want them thinking they can start practicing WITCHCRAFT because of the anti christian propoganda printed all over that book.

@CV lol.... Then... yeah. Nvm. I'm just gonna go giggle.

I would hope that your grandchildren have an imagination and know the difference between right and wrong. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

we teach them the difference between right and wrong, but that does not mean they are not still impressionable!

That right there just shot your entire side of the debate into the garbage. How can you begin to lecture or look down your nose at something that you yourself have not bothered to pick up and read? You can not make a sound judgement on anything with out having yourself done the research. I have a very very hardcore Roman Catholic for a grandmother, she's also an eighth grade English teacher, & she's read every single book, in fact she bought me the first three books {{might I add these books got me into reading}} & she loves these books. They spark a child's imagination & teaches then that Good will win in the end. Yes there are witches & wizards in the book but they do not teach a child about witchcraft. Side note: Wiccans believe in Good. Not evil. They believe that if you try to harm another human being that it will come back to them 10x worse. They believe in Mother Earth & they respect all that she has created {{trees, plants, bugs, flowers, et cetera}}. Seriously, big up the books, read them with a open mind {{if possible}}, & then come back & tell me if you still feel the same. Maybe then your side of the debate might actually hold water.

then your grandmother was not following the word of the LORD OUR GOD, simply put.

Deut 18:10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer

i do not care if they call what they do "good". it is anti christian.

Well I still stand by what I said. You can not make a valid "argument" based purely off hearsay. Now if you go read the books, feel the same way after then I will gladly in a respectful manner, debate this with you, until then, I'm sorry I fined what you have to say lacking & your description of it being anti christian purely unfounded.

if you are going to tell me that there is no WITCHCRAFT in harry potter then i just have no interest in debating with you anyway. having read the books or not. the fact that the books contain and SUPPORT WITCHCRAFT is all the information i need...
