Loved it! And can't stop listening to the score, which is incredible. Still not sure which one is my favorite film of the series, but this was just about as good as it could possibly be. I love Yates. He really brought it home.
Hope I can go see it again before it leaves theaters. I have a baby, so I just lost it for the first time when Lily leans down and starts talking to Harry , knowing what coming up the stairs. :( The Prince's Tale was much more emotional for me than I expected. (I was never a Snape fan.) Also, majorly impressed with Dan. He's grown so much as an actor. |

Yeah the "mama loves you. Dada loves you. Be strong." just KILLED me. OMFG it was amazing. Just... I was kinda sniffling at that point b/c of seeing George bawling over Fred and that made it rain. Just her whispering to him and Snape holding her in anguish?!?! AUGH!!! SO GOOD. xD

I totally lost it when Snape was holding her. I loved that the director added that. It helped explain Snapes love & why he was playing at being a death eater. His last line to Harry got me started with the tears though because I remembered the memory part from the book. Amazing movie!

I loved it. It was pretty damn close to perfect (although they could have done with explaining the Grindewald thing and Dumbledore's background... particularly after building up to it in part 1. I think it could be confusing for people who haven't read the books). I cried during the Snape and Lily scenes, which wasn't where I was expecting to cry at all.

There were quite a few places I wasn't expecting to get teary that I did lol.
But Snape has always been one of my favorite characters (as well as Luna) and I thought they were both quite lovely in this movie. YAY! |

Ooh it was so good! I cried my head off!
For some reason when I watched the first part - I didn't remember that Dobby died, AT ALL (I have no idea why - I read the book!) and I completely lost it. It was terrible. I think they did a fantastic job. I'm so glad they stuck to the book so well! I do agree with RedFraggle - they definitely should have explained the Grindewald/Dumbledore thing a lot better. I know when I left the theater my friend (who hasn't read the books) was asking me about Dumbledore-related things because she didn't understand what had happened. ;D |

Would you recommend seeing the movie in 3D or regular? I'm seeing it in regular D but I was thinking if I get to see it a second time I'd do 3D if it recommended.

I watched it in IMAX 3d and it was absolutely worth every single penny!

I'd love to see it in IMAX but there isn't one close.

@MJC I had never watched a movie in IMAX til I met my husband...my first one was the latest Alice..then Tron..and now this. I do have to say though, Tron was the best 3D movie hands down...they were all worth it though.

Yeah IMAX in regular D is pretty damn cool, so 3D has got to be epic lol. Tron was a total movie to see in 3D. You could tell from the previews that that was a movie best seen in 3D.
I've yet to see any of the HP movies in 3D{{when it was offered}} so it's kind of tradition for mom & I too see it at night in regular, just the two of us. So 3D I think I'll save for when friends and i get a chance to see it |

I think no matter how you see this movie it will knock you out of your chair. It was an amazing end to an amazing era, at least in my eyes. The previews they showed before the movie alone had me drooling...Happy Feet 2...a new Batman. AGH!

@Forever: that's true. I'm just excited because I wasn't sure I'd get a chance to see it in the theater because things have just been crazy lately

@MJC: I saw the 2D version... and there was really only one scene where I was like 'wow that would be AWESOME in 3D.' everything else was pretty meh.
|
My Magical World Post Count: 15 |
Yeah, I figure the fight with Voldemort & Harry would be pretty awesome in 3D & the Bellatrix & Molly fight{{i'll be so pissed if they cut that out cus Molly had the best line out of the entire series in that one scene}} but the rest I figured would be too ...slow?... for 3D
|
Jessica Post Count: 283 |
@MJC: eh I thought the bit where they're in gringotts on the coaster thing would have been the best in 3d (or well, IMAX really.)
|
My Magical World Post Count: 15 |
@Jellyka: that's true that would be pretty cool.

@ MJC :
The fight WAS amazing in 3D! It was pretty good in 3D, which I was surprised about because I'm not a huge fan of 3D. I've also seen it in 2D and it's still amazing - of course! Seeing it IMAX soon *fingers crossed* |
