@DELB: I think people who dislike them may just be going to be able to see the rest of the sequel.

I'm like that sometimes.

because it's like a train wreck, you can't help but look.

the writing is god awful, because she sucks at english. the idea is pretty good, but meyer kills it with her writing style. i've read better fan fiction. the movies are an improvement, except they somehow managed to hire the most deadpan, boring actress who ever lived to play bella so it still ends up being kinda crap.

sometimes watching things to make fun of how shit they are is fun. pretty sure that's the only reason anyone ever watched passions or any movie jennifer lopez has ever been in [except perhaps the cell].

I'm really curious where making it R even comes into place ... considering if you've read the books to know that they're "awful", you'll remember that there AREN'T any sex scenes to read. There was a little vague detail and a lot of fading to black. lol.

i didn't feel like torturing myself beyond a third of the first book, her writing was that terrible to me. bachelor of english my ass. considering her own fans went into a rage over the last one i think i made the right choice. so no, i have no idea as to sex scenes or lack there of. from what i've read the speculation about it being an R rating was due to the gorey birth scene, which i haven't read but have heard is fairly graphic. there was also talk of making the sex scenes less of the fade to black crap. but the director wants to keep it pg-13. as i said it was speculation being made about the birth. if they were going to stay true to the book's graphic imagery, it would need an R rating.

I agree that the movies are better (well except the first one which is just as terrible as the books), I think because there's less of Bella whining constantly in the movies. Although I can't stand Kristen Stewart.

But yeah, New Moon and Eclipse weren't completely awful (the movies).

I agree, New Moon and Eclipse were definitely better than Twilight, as far as the movies go.

@Ev: pretty much. I read E/B fanfiction all the time b/c it's actually good. Unlike her and her Mary Jane tendencies. *rolls eyes* Fuck, she IS Bella, just fat.

I miss the good old days...Lord of the Rings. Those were fantastic movies. Long, but worth it.

lol @ Jellyka...of course those moms wouldn't deny their daughters watching the movies. They'd just be scarred for life if they were only allowed to read the books while everyone else just watched the movies. What kind of mom would you be if you censored your child? Who does that anymore..? haha

My future sister-in-law censors her kids. Shelly is pretty hardcore, and the kids understand. However... in Shelly's defense, she does let them other freedoms. Every year before school starts, they get to go to the salon and get a chunk of their hair died whatever color they want. Alyssa does purple, Emma always does green, and Taylor always does pink. Also, when they come visit me at Famous Footwear, they are given a $40 max and they get to pick whatever they want for shoes so long as it fits budget. What's also really awesome is that despite the restrictions, those kids have lots of friends, they are all on the honor roll, and despite hormones kicking in they still sit around the table for family night playing board games.

:) your future sil sounds like she has some pretty awesome kids.

I was being sarcastic, though. Majority here holds the opinion that kids are burdens, and only worth having if a situation arises in which they can show them off. The rest of the time, kids are annoying and the parents really don't care what they are doing or watching as long as they are quiet. No censorship. No guidance. Just turn them loose and let them be hellions.

And, that is why there are so many rude, craptastic spawn running around my town. It's annoying. I know I'm not perfect, but sometimes, I'm ashamed my kid will attend school with all these immoral brats..

Censorship and parental involvement goes a long way. But it's too hard to do those things, I guess..for some. Off topic so I suppose I should end this.
