The funny thing is, though, if you look at a picture of someone who is in danger, your sub-conscious stores it as pertinent information. So, like in the situation you described, you may not be able to give a very good description of the person who attacked you to the police for a composite, BUT if you were to come across that person again in a NORMAL situation, your mind would process that and you would know that person as the person who attacked you.

Even if you don't think you would recognize anyone in those pictures if you did happen to see them, I urge you to go look at all of the pictures anyway. Take a few moments to look at them. Even if 10 minutes after you look at them you don't remember what they looked like, IF you happen to come across any of them, you may be surprised at how quickly your brain processes it and you know EXACTLY who they are.

i did look, just in case. im not cruel, and im not an idiot. :] and so you dont get defensive, i wasnt implying that you said i was. im just saying its common sense to give it a look in the first place. it only takes a few minutes.. not even that. there were only a few up!

anyways, for some people, i could see it. but it took me a month to begin to recognize who i worked with.
then AGAIN, im blind without glasses and im lazy about my contacts, so this plays into it in a big way heh.

I'm sure that since you did take the time to look, IF you happen to come across them (I don't know where you live, so I don't know if that's likely or not...I happen to think they're still along the I-5 corridor), I'm sure you're brain will process it enough to remember enough to call the police. We just never know what our brains are capable of remembering until we are put into a situation where we MUST remember.

Yes, that is true. But most people who are kidnapping tend to stay on the fastest, most populated highways. First, it's more difficult to weed them out, and second, it's faster. And since Tacoma is right on the main North-South interstate between Canada and Mexico (on the West Coast), chances are they stayed and either headed to Canada (in which case they're already there), or are on their way south either to California or Mexico. Still important for everyone even as far as the East Coast to view, just in case, it's just more likely they are still on the West Coast and travelling I-5.

That or they already hopped a plane at Sea-Tac Airport. Which I hope isn't the case.

What I fail to understand is....if she hates the kids so much that she abuses them, why was it so important to her to keep them? I don't understand that. She's probably got going through her head "I love my kids so much, I just didn't want anyone to take them away from me." But if that's the case, then WHY ABUSE THEM?? Or even if it wasn't HER abusing them, why ALLOW them to be abused?

It baffles me. I hope they find these children ALIVE and put them somewhere they will be loved and TREATED with love.

i think people who abuse loved ones (i could be wrong, please correct me) like the control they have.. they always apologize, say they're so sorry, they'll never do it again. of course, they do end up doing it. IF they're even the type to apologize. but most abuse victims dont know how to get themselves out, they're scared.

i cant remember where i saw this but people like that.. its hard to get inside their head in the first place, since most people arent cruel and child abusers. i think a big part of it is their control.

Yes, that is true. Speaking as a survivor of domestic violence, that is all very true.

However, abusers don't TRULY love the one they're abusing, because TRUE love doesn't abuse. They THINK they love that person, but they don't TRULY.

I just think (as I'm sure you do) that if she truly loved them that much, she wouldn't abuse them. And when she is caught and says "I love my kids so much I didn't want anyone taking them away from me," I for one would be spitting in her face if I was standing there at that moment.

Here is a link to the page at Amber Alerts for the little girl that Jenna Bean mentioned, Haleigh Cummings, Florida

as well as one in Texas, for Annabelle Williams-Forlano. It is possible that this child is being taken to New York by her abductors, as the abductors have family there.

You can also sign up for Wireless Amber Alerts. It's free and all you do (besides giving your number) is give the zip codes of the areas you are near and they'll send you a text message with any children that are missing from that area.

Apparently, though the claim is unsubstantiated as of yet, the mother wasn't abusing the children. The boy apparently has a skin condition that was misdiagnosed by the officials as abuse.

AMBER Alert Children found safe

By KING5.com Staff

updated 1 hour, 57 minutes ago

TACOMA, Wash. – The children and mother at the center of a statewide AMBER Alert have been located and the children are safe.

KING 5 reporter Chris Daniels was the first to make contact with the mother, Tivice Evans. Daniels spoke to Evans and her boyfriend, Ahzariyah Yasharahla, as they were waiting for Tacoma Police to arrive at their church. The children were in the room at the time.

The AMBER Alert was issued for 1-year-old Zariyah Brown and 3-year-old Deon Brown after DSHS says Evans and Yasharahla kidnapped the children from a DSHS building in Tacoma Wednesday morning.

The children had been taken into protective custody last week due to reports of extensive abuse. But, Evans says it all started because Deon has a skin condition that was misdiagnosed by officers as abuse.

“What we asked them to do is just search (Deon’s) records … and affirm that he has this condition, which they have not done,” said Yasharahla. “They have completely violated their own policies and procedures which we had to do research on and pull up because they refused to give it to us.”

Yasharahla's mother concurs.

“The mother went to visit her children, who were taken illegally from CPS, and when she went in there and they still did not have a court date, she said, ‘I have my children. I'm leaving. You took them illegally. I'm taking my children back,’” said Agatha Hill. “She could not pick up her little daughter, so of course, he's walking out. He's driving her. He picks the baby up. Those are her children.”

Tacoma Police arrived at the church a short time after the family spoke to KING 5. The children were taken back into state custody. Evans and Yasharahla were not arrested.

Police were initially searching for a gray 2007 Nissan Sentra 4-door with Washington license plate number 617XBP. That vehicle was located in Tacoma about an hour after the alert was issued, but the family was not inside.

Washington State Department of Transportation signs started flashing the information for drivers, but not for about 45 minutes after the alert was issued.

AWWWWWW im glad they were able to find the kids and I really hope that it turns out to be a skin condition and not abuse and they are able to prove that its a condition.

You know, I'm not certain they were "found", so much as the mother decided to give herself up. They were waiting for the police to come get them at a church. According to the article above, the mother and her boyfriend weren't arrested, so perhaps there IS truth to the mother's indication that the son has a skin condition and CPS/DSHS didn't investigate it like they are SUPPOSED to. But then, that certainly isn't surprising behavior for CPS/DSHS.

Ugh I hate people try to assume the worst and abuse their power. Therefore shit like this happens and kids remember things as young as 3. I still have a memory or 2 when I lived in Atlanta. I moved away from Atlanta right before I turned 4. I hope they get their asses in gear and take the correct measures this time and next when it comes to taking kids from their homes.
