Hey,

I know some people do this - painting a dog's nails, if you use a old socking or any that you wont wear (could be new if you wanted to) stick the paws all the way through and paint the nails with instant dry pen polish and paint em (or not the pen) I want to do it on my dog (some people may be against this) I have no expereince

IF you do - how old would you do it on your dog? or a friend who does it?

I talked to a dog groomer (the one i take her to) told me this, and said its safe for dogs, but I dont know the age that would be better for a dog. My puppy is 5 months old going on 6 months in a couple of weeks. She is very hyper we just got her fixed yesterday and she isnt so hyper (btw for cats its easier and quicker for them to bounce back to themselves within a day - how long for a female puppy - this is the first female dog - or any dogs i have expereince with)

any tips would be nice thanks :-)

Only Amber would want to paint a dog's nails.

I know this is completely irrelevant to the thread at hand, but I have to ask. Why do you want to paint a dog's nails? I mean, I couldn't see why it would be dangerous or unhealthy for the dog, but I don't get why people want to dress up or paint their pets' nails. It makes no sense to me.

@ Annonymous Source -- I agree. I see it as quite silly to dress a dog up for any reason. Haha. Not only that but my dog would not tolerate it.

I painted my dog's when she was a puppy, and she HATED it. Now if I'm painting my own nails, she makes this weird face at the polish and won't let me touch her feet.

If nothing else, I hope that you don't ever use that polish on yourself, after you use it on your dog. *lol*

Meh. It's just nail polish. It's not like I drink the water from her bowl. Lol. But more realistically, I'm glad I'm not one of those people I see in commercials that let their dogs lick all over their face and mouth. GROSS. I always taught my dogs to just lick my chin if I'm getting kisses lol.

Five months old? Good luck getting it to sit still while you paint their nails.

I personally wouldn't paint my dog's nails. I'm definitely not a fan, it's right up there with dressing up your dog :-/
