Is anyone on, ever been on, or know anyone on Lo/Ovral-28? I've been on Levora for a little over a year and just got switched today so I wanna know something about it. There was no reason for the switch other than the office didn't have any Levora on hand and I needed my refill by Sunday latest.

Googling it, I get a few reviews but they're all conflicting! I know everyone's body reacts differently and all, but I just wanted some personal experiences from people in the community. I don't want to suddenly become murderous or depressed to the point of suicide, nor do I want to lose my sex drive (it's quite healthy at the moment and I'd like to keep it that way!) or gain a million pounds.

Thanks!

Levora or Lo/Ovral? lol.. the names are so similar!! I used to be on Levora, now I'm on Lo/Ovral. Nothing was wrong with Levora for me... I switched because the doctor's office was out of Levora and I didn't feel like messing with going to a pharmacy and waiting for a prescription and having to then pay for it. I chose the free one I could get right there in the doctor's office.

As for Lo/Ovral, there were a lot of comments about turning into rage-aholics on it and a lot on loss of libido. Also a few on it causing really horrible acne. Those were the most common complaints. But for every one that had a complaint there was another that said it was perfect. Obviously it has to do with how each person's body reacts. I just wanted to hear peoples' experiences with it from here.

Everyone is different. 20 of us could have taken it with bad side effects. You could be the 1 who doesn't get the side effects.

I know everyone's different, which I stated. I just wanted to know if anyone has been on this particular brand and what their experience was with it. Just out of curiosity.

I think I took Lo Ovral a long time ago when I first went on the pill. I don't remember any horrible side effects. Ortho Tricyclen was what I went on next. I didn't think I had any side effects with that until I switched to Aviane. Now that I am on Aviane it is clear that the Ortho Tricyclen made me moody and lessened my libido. If you are only going on Lo Ovral for a month, I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck!

i agree with allottavAdina, tricyclen does make you moody as hell and lowers the sex drive.
ive been on it for 2 years and my boyfriend noticed the change.

i had been on yaz for over a year, and decided to try something that my insurance would pay for, since paying $65 a month for yaz was getting spendy. so, i switched to orthotricyclen-lo, and it was AWFUL!!!! i had headaches daily, i felt pregnant 99% of the time, with my appetite changing constantly, it wasnt a good thing for me.

but, besides that, i dont know anything about any other bc pills, just yaz (which is WONDERFUL, but EXPENSIVE!).

i was on the orthotricyclen-lo as well and HATED it! if you could have a side effect from birth control, I had it when i was taking it.... i'd rather have 14 babies than be on it ever again ;)

Really, I wouldn't make decisions based on other peoples experiences. Different pills suit different people. The only way to know if it will suit you is to try it.

I'm not making a decision. I already have it. I was just curious about others' experiences. Does nobody read the whole original post?

Yes, I read it. My point still stands though. Other peoples experiences should be irrelevant to you, because they do not effect how YOU will react to the medication. ANY pill can have side effects in some people.

I said I know everyone reacts differently. I'm perfectly aware. I just wanted to hear stories about it since I am now on it. I want to know information. I fail to see how that's entirely irrelevant. I'm not using the stories to judge whether or not I want to take this brand or switch back. I just want to know if anyone has used it. Gathering information on the medication you're taking is never irrelevant. It's nice to know other people are on the same one and to know how they like it.

And for the record, NO person has ANY right to judge whether any information is irrelevant to someone else. That is a completely personal thing. If someone thinks it's relevant to them, then it's relevant, regardless of anyone else's opinion.

I guess I just don't understand why you would want to know about something which applies to someone else, but doesn't apply to you. How does that help you in any way? Why does it matter to you if others have used it or not? And you can find out about the medicine you're on by reading the information leaflet, and it's probably more reliable than stories from people on the internet. I don't particularly see what is reassuring about the fact someone else happens to be taking the same pill as you. It may give them horrible side effects, but be great for you. Or vice versa. Why not just read the information leaflet and get on with taking it and see how you go.

It's true, I read terrible things about my pill from other women with PCOS like me, but I've been fine on it! Even if you do get opinions, it won't work the same on you.

Not sure what the UK equivalent is. But the tiniest alteration in the hormone dosage can affect different people very differently. I used to be on loestrin 20, bled horrendously on it so switched to microgynon 30 and stayed on it for 5 years with no problems, came off to concieve and did so within a month.
You won't know how it's going to affect you until you've taken it, but hopefully it will be OK :D

I was on Orthotricyclen for over a year and like everyone else that's posted about it, I hated it. I always felt sick and no energy. I was very moody. It felt like I was almost always pms-ing. I had absolutely no sex drive (which was healthy before it). It was terrible. I just switched to Loestrin and have felt back to normal finally.

Obviously each one affects us all different, as someone just above posted they had problems with Loestrin..

-cynthia- I always felt bloated too. I was miserable and glad I feel normal again.

But girlsetsfire is right, everyone is different and not everything works for everyone else. Probably why there's so many different ones.

i love how the girl asked a question about birth control and everyone is complaining about something or another that personal experiences don't have anything to do with her, etc.

as for my help.. i was on the Nuva Ring for 2 months, i think. i hated it. it fell out everytime i had sex and just was an overall pain.
then i switched to Ortho Tricyclen, i think that's what it was called. i was on that for maybe a year, but i think less.
and now i'm on FemCon. it's the only chewable form of b/c pill. it's rare so they don't have a generic brand so i pay a $50 co-pay. but i'd rather pay that than have a baby at the moment.

i haven't had any side effects that i've noticed. i'm sure there was some type of appetite change. i also haven't gained or lost a noticeable amount of weight.

good luck!
