Well that's fine if you feel that way... but the end result of your plan will still be the same, more drug addicts commiting crime to fund their habit. But hey, at least YOU'RE not paying for it (except that you will be because the result of people stealing from stores is that they put their prices up!).

It's not that easy! Most lab based facilities that carry out these tests are based in hopsitals. You can't just go around building extra wings onto hospitals, and especially not if you have no intention of using it to provide medical care!

And how exactly ARE they going to get rehab if taxpayers aren't going to pay for it?

If you say take away their benefits, don't pay for their rehab then they will only turn to one place to continue to get their drug fix (because it IS an addiction and rehab is required to quit) and that will be crime.

Actually, the three labs that I'm talking about, only one is hospital based. The other two are actualy private-owned labs that do work specifically for employment offices.

Well you can't just go around building wings onto private labs either, for the government to use!

I don't see why not. It would be more money for provider...so why not?

It just doesn't work like that... it is not that easy to go adding new blocks to buildings. It is not that easy to find and hire new, qualified staff, and, as the lab owners will well know, it is likely it will increase their own workload instead. And given that you're proposing this operation be government funded, they will also be aware that they're unlikely to get anywhere near as much money as they can earn as a completely private company.

Well that is your opinion, but since you're not a lab owner, you can't really speak on their part. It may increase their workload, but not if they do random drug testing as I suggested on an earlier statement.
