Ok, so me and a friend have decided to open up a restaurant in a couple years. We have quite a bit planned out, but can't think of a name. It's going to be a family-style buffet with Asian, American, and Italian food with a salad and dessert bar. To start out, we'll have 28 tables. Every table will have a different theme. For example, we'll have 3 tables dedicated to the 1950s. One will be about the Peanuts comic strip (thats when it first came out), and one will be about when segregation became illegal. 60s. One will be JFK, one will be MLK Jr, one will Marilyn Monroe. We're gonna get newspaper articles, pictures, etc to put under glass on the tables.

Any help on names?

(Sorry if a bit hard to understand)

I'm no good with names like that, either, but I think the idea behind it is really cool xD.

How about a play on the number 28? "28 Tables" or "Table 28" or something?

I like "The Centennial"

On a side note, is having a limited number of themed tables going to be problematic? How are you going to handle large groups of people who want to sit at a specifically-themed table?

I would also stay fresh the hell away from a segregation-themed table, even if you're planning on having it exist to celebrate the day it became illegal. Someone, somewhere will find a major problem with it, and you'll be walking into completely unnecessary problems.

I like the idea of "Decades". That was a great word choice!

You could just leave it as that or I like the sound of Decades Cafe or Decades Diner.

Or something with the word Classic in it.

I dunno.

After I saw decades, all I could think of was interesting synonyms for it. Apparently "decennary" is the only one. I think it sounds kinda neat ;D idk how well it would work as a name though.

when you talked about your restaurant, it made me think of the restaurant in Pulp Fiction. Which without going to go look at the movie, I cant think of the name of the restaurant.

Lol. Jack Rabbit Slims. Yea I was actually thinking of doing something like that but I don't think it'd be too easy to find cars that look good that I can just cut up and make into booths haha

Wow. Lotsa good ones! Thanks guys! Helped a lot really. I'll talk to Kayla and see what she thinks.

And about the segregation thing, yea I figured as much, but couldn't find much from that time to find enough articles and pictures for ya know?

Would yall suggest more tables? Some were gonna be 2 tops, 4 tops, and 6 tops, so combining wouldn't be a problem for big parties, but I didn't think about if they asked for a specific decade.

Maybe you could reserve a decade as a "first come, first serve, service". Are there going to be rows of just plain tables?

I think that's a great idea for a restaurant! Have you ever been to Damon's Grill??? They have TV's in the restaurant playing different stations, and little radios at each table so you can choose which channel you want to listen to. You should do something like that at your tables -- music to go with the themes. Like, music from the 50's for those tables (Nat King Cole, Charlie Brown songs, etc.).
