I have a feeling the teeth of the snake have been broken. I found a few articles regarding that. But still, was frightening to watch!

I showed it to my Husband and that's what he said. That the snake was probably "safe" for the baby to be around, but jeez. Still. That little baby is going to grow up thinking all snakes are okay to wrestle with, and they're not! It just made me cringe. LOL

No, you have a point, i mean even if the snake had its fangs removed or what not - the kids going to grow up thinking its perfectly ok to run out and grab a snake.

Regardless of it having it's fangs removed, it can still wrap it's body around the child's body or neck. :/ It's just dumb to let a child play with a snake.

...what the fuck? Maybe it didn't have fangs? or...something?

I'd never let my child near that type of snake, ever.
The little ball pythons, or the boas they have at the zoo/malls (I personally like the albino ones ;D) but THAT?

Gotta be fucking crazy.

Yeah... I gathered that when you said he thought it wasn't real.
Why does he think it's fake? You can tell by how it moves that it isn't.

Keep in mind - this video was taken in India, so it's quite possible that the parents aren't able to have such "luxury" items. I mean in some parts of India they have like one toilet for an entire community. Also if you see those ads on tv for starving kids in Africa & India - some of those kids are running around without any clothes on.

That's scary as shit! lol. I got goosebumps watching it peck at the baby's head!

But on a secondary note: Does anyone else think Cobra's are so effing majestic?! Look at the way the head flares out and how tall they stand! They're beautiful, for being a snake! lol

Oh yeah, I think that Cobras are an amazing animal. I think snakes are amazing in general, I used to own a snake when I was younger. He started getting aggressive as he got older, and he snapped at my Mom and I one day and we got rid of him.. my daughter was about 2 months at the time.

Ok, so when I read 'parents let kids play with snake' im thinking, ok, snake crawling on toddler... whatever. But that snake was ATTACKING that baby.. I dont care if it didnt have teeth, no venom, it WHATEVER, I would never let my son sit there and get attacked my any animal whether it be dangerous/ deadly or not.. Thats a baby.. it doesnt understand, its just sitting here getting knocked upside the head by that dang snake! Ugh... So maybe its there culture to do that, which i guess i might be a little more inclined to understand.. but if thats just for fun those people need to be kicked in the head.

i agree. and what happens if he gets a little bigger, wonders away, and sees a snake that ISN'T "safe"? he's going to think, "oh, this is okay."

Different cultures, different customs. Weird shit. I dont think there's any way to de-fang any sort of snake without condemning it to death (although that might be viewed as perfectly acceptable over there, too) they kind of need their teeth in order to swallow their food. So chances are it had fangs but no venom. A lot of snake bites dont really hurt that much. The Black Mamba for instance. Anyone who's ever been bitten and lived said that the BITE ITSELF doesnt hurt too bad, but then in about five minutes all your nerve endings feel like they're on fire. Baby seems fine, though.

They don't need teeth if they are constrictors or they are fed dead food/prey.
