So my fiance has never met his dad and knows very little about him. Full name, aprox. age, and a couple cities that he has lived. I have been trying and not having any luck to find his dad for him so they can form a relationship since that is something my fiance really wants to do... Does anyone have some good ideas for doing this? I have paid for all the major sites, and google only brings up that BS intellus stuff... So any help would be amazing! Thanks guys!

I know it sounds silly, but have you checked Facebook and/or Myspace? My husband found his dad through FB after not seeing him for twenty years. If he's not listed, do you know if he has any children besides your fiance? Search for them.

Yeah I have tried myspace and facebook, there are a lot of people on both with the same name and have messaged some within the age range but no leads yet.. I even tried posting on Craigslist in all the areas we know he has lived, got one response from some crazy guy just trying to get me to send a picture of us, and another spam. :(

I used friends reunited and it gave me some history on where my uncle had worked when I was looking for him which helped me find where he is currently working. I tried facebook and myspace but didn't know enough to go, thats him! lol!

Does he know other members of the family? My half-brother found my dad's whereabouts through his dad, since they were friends growing up. Maybe you can do that.

All we know is him so far, his mom was only 17 when he was born and his dad was only a couple of years older so he didnt have any other kids and we dont know anything else about his parents or siblings that he might have had.

My Mum found my Dad through the internet (after I asked her to find him when I was 12). I can't remember which exact sites she used - but she searched for his full name, birth date and the state he lived in. There were about 200 results of men with his name but she wrote to every single one of them asking if they were him. Eventually the right one wrote back! But, I know it took a while (about a year, maybe a bit more) but she just kept trying and eventually found him.

Anyway, I hope that your fiance meets his Dad - it will take time and patience but hopefully you'll get there in the end :)

Yeah I am looking at about 200+ names too, I think I am just going to spend the weekend messaging EVERY guy on facebook the same message asking if its him lol... I found my sister not long ago using ancestry.com we happened to have the same dad in our tree which was AWESOME and now we are talking so hopefully I will have some luck with my fiances dad!

Yeah, that might be the easiest way to do it. Just type up a message and copy & paste it to each one. Shouldn't take TOO terribly long to get the messages out!

I was just about to say ancestry.com until I read the last comment! If she knows what high school he went to, you could look for him on classmates.com as well.

Oh the other bad thing is that my fiances mom passed away about 8 years ago... leaving him with only little bits of information that we have been trying to use. :/
