I went to a OneRepublic concert today and I was struck by the differences between this concert and the Sevendust/Drowning Pool concert I went to last month.

What are the differences you ask, despite the obvious?

Well, at Sevendust it was fun, mostly men, good music, and a giant mosh pit of hell.

OneRepublic? It was fun, mostly women, good music, and giant ass cunts of Asian girls behind us.

I'll take giant sweaty angry men any day over stupid ass chicks who don't understand that @ a concert where everyone is standing, you don't fucking push forward when THERE'S NOWHERE TO FUCKING GO. Literally, we were 1 row behind the barricade , there is no where to move, and theses damn bitches would NOT stop trying to push forward, whining that they "couldn't see". I'm sorry, if you can't see then you should've gotten there sooner!!! I'm 5' fucking 2", I couldn't see well either, did you see me complaining about it?! No! I dealt w/ it!

At the Sevendust concert it was even worse and I didn't complain about it, I knew that that was going to happen! I'd rather be bruised and battered from the mosh pit than deal w/ those stupid bitches again. >____< They're all up in my business and my friend's, pushing forward, bothering other ppl but we did not move. Mwahahahhaa.

So, in light, what was your worst and best concert experience? :D Gotta give ya something for letting me vent. XD

Best Concert EVER...Ironically, was Sevendust. My former band opened for them at Harpo's in Detroit. Got to meet the band and hang out. one of the overall heaviest nights of my life.

WORST concert ever...hands DOWN...was Club Eastbrook in Grand Rapids, MI. We went to see Living Color, Urban Dance Squad, and some other shitty band. The sound was absolutely horrid, you couldn't understand anything...it was just one giant ass wall of noise. And to make it even worse, Some drunk dude punched this girl and there ended up being this huge fight with security. We ended up leaving early. I even told the manager on the way out that I wanted my money back. LOL

I have not had a bad experiance yet! But then I havent been to many lol! Muse was fantastic, just a shame I couldnt get standing tickets! We were sat instead! Wheatus, we were right at the front, right next to the speaker, couldn't hear properly for a day or 2 but it was worth it! Bowling for soup, again, amazing! Nothing to grumble about there!

The comman factor is the bits I have mentioned about are my own fault and no one elses!

Oh my gosh, I have to vent about the stupidity of some people.

Our worst experience was when me and my husband went to see John Mayer a few weeks ago. We were in the balcony (tier) seating, so obviously it's not the same as being on the floor, but I've never had a problem with anyone when we have sang along and stood up during the show from those kind of sections. I know not everyone stands, and that's okay, but a lot of people usually still do because you can see him better that way anyhow since we're not on the floor seating.

This stupid RUDE woman (who brought her daughter who was clearly mortified by her behavior) told my husband that "the consensus is that people are sitting" (haha, so not true) and threatened to get an usher when we were still standing during his second song of the night. He tried to move over so that she could see between us or from another angle so we weren't blocking her, and she got even more rude and pissed off about it. She expected us to sit the whole show so that she could see over us. She also tried to tell us that this wasn't the kind of music we should be standing for because it wasn't 'dance music' (um, what? LOL. )

I've seen John Mayer 5 times and never had anyone act that way! It was kind of hilarious, really. She clearly knew nothing about him and only came for her kid.
(who told her she could see fine!)

One of the best experiences was the opposite-when we saw Keith Urban last year, we discovered to our dismay that we were actually seated in the VERY last row in an arena. Though the arena was smaller than we thought it was, it was hot as hell up there.... seriously, probably 85 degrees. We both had on layers that day luckily, so we each took one off.
The lady in front of us had to move because her seat was at a bad angle with the lighting, so we let her have our spot and we moved over. There was spilled beer near us, and she just said, "I don't care if I have to stand in it, I came here to have a good time!" and she did. We stood the whole time and everyone was having a blast. It did not matter at all that we were in the last row.

So in a nutshell, it ticks me off when you spend money to come to the same concert as me, but you don't intend on having any fun.

Last Saturday we saw Jamie Cullum for the second time and I love him so much. And I was so thrilled no one asked me to sit down (though most of crowd sat at a lot of times and we did what the consensus was). But, people had a good time and sang along, like you're supposed to!

But you're EXPECTED to stand at concerts! When we were teenagers we used to stand on the chairs too (although that was frowned upon!).

I know! Seriously, that lady was from another planet. Chris looked at her like she was insane and said "I don't come to concerts to sit down", lol.

The weirdest part was how many people were bored around us. I couldn't understand it. A lot of them sat the whole time, so we ended up sitting sometimes too, as eventually there were only a few of us who were acting like we wanted to be there. It was a very strange little section. Everyone everywhere else seemed to be acting normal. It was bad luck that we sat there!

Wait....KOL=Kings of Leon, right? How is it possible for people to sit during that?!

(I kind of hope I am wrong about the abbreviation because that is so strange!)

Jamie Cullum isn't super well known in the States yet, but he's one of my all time faves. That was my second time seeing him. He's great live because he goes out in the aisle, (singing without a microphone) plays without a set list, and plays a long time.

He recently did the song on Gran Torino...his new album , The Pursuit, is reallllly good. :)
(Yes, I want to convert people. I like him that much. lol. )

Hahaha yes, it is Kings of Leon. IDK, Genes (pandora) didn't have good things to say about them and then a friend of mine who took her daughter said that she was very bored, that if she had had a few martinis w/ her gf's she would've had a lot more fun so that wasn't a good sign for me.... XD

Oh that sounds like so much fun! I'll have to youtube him, I've only heard of him in passing. what genre does he do?

He's very much a crossover artist, so it's not easy to categorize him. He started out sounding like a jazz artist (he's a pianist) but he also writes his own stuff. He's covered Cole Porter, but also Radiohead and Rihanna. So really, his music is more like a combination of jazz/pop rock.

here is his Rhianna cover, it's fun. :)

my favorite song off the album is called < a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlAGeiJRCUc&feature=related">Mixtape.

KOL was fucken shit.
They are such arrogant cockheads. I understand gratitude for fans who have been following you before you 'make it big'. HOWEVER, it is one thing to say during a concert "Oh thanks to those fans who actually liked us before Sex on Fire and not just because of it." Fuckers. If it wasn't FOR fans who started following them SINCE Sex on Fire, they wouldn't have the following that they did. Nothing to any other fans. Kinda gay. And that was pretty much all they said. It was like being there was a chore, and a pain, and that they resented anyone there that didn't to them before that one song.

Yeah if it was just 1 person saying that KOL wasn't that great live I might've been able to say, well, ok, maybe they were just having an off night, maybe said person wasn't a huge fan of them... but more than 1?! .... I think I'll save my money. I realize that they might be tired of playing that song (makes sense, having to play it over and over and over, ok I get it) but @ the same time, it's BECAUSE of that song that you're fucking famous. Just fucking play and then go whine and complain when you're done playing it backstage. Pussies.

I went to a Parkway Drive (Australian metalcore xD) concert a few years back... I was right on the edge of the circle of death, and the guys in the middle were doing the typical Neanderthal moonwalk that teenage boys do at these shows. xD One of them kicked his leg out suddenly, and hit me square in the stomach. I went flying back about 2 metres, and had the wind knocked ot of me. It did hurt, but it wasn't too bad, so I recovered pretty quickly. And then he found me and apologised, so it was all good. xD

Another concert I went to was a festival, so there were quite a few bands there that I liked - As I Lay Dying, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage. And I was second from the front (one good thing about being short is that people let you go closer to the front xD). The guy in front of me wasn't that much taller than me, BUT he had these long, sweaty, greasy dreads that periodically whipped me in the face whenever he moshed. xD Ah, good times.

It's cool when people apologise actually, I remember a dude standing next to me once at some punk concert, with beer in hand he said "hey man, just want to apologise now in advance if I hit you or spill any beer or you".
Just made me laugh.

Haha that's pretty cool. xD

I've had beer and some other... concoction... not sure what, but I think it had Scotch in it... poured on me. My jacket smelt of it for the rest of the night. It was sticky and gross. xD And I got no apologies, pre- or post-spillage!

I'm gonna be one of those people that bitch about people standing. But only because I'm in a wheelchair, and I can't stand for long periods of time. I haven't had a REAL big problem, but there were times where I couldn't see at all at the various concerts I've been to and people know I am in a chair.. either move to the side or sit down. Not all of us CAN stand to see. lol :P
