Anyone ever take this?

I had my baby 6wks ago. The hubby and I got caught up in the heat of the moment and didn't use a condom. Oops. Our own fault... but I can NOT have another baby right now. I should go to planned parent hood today and get one, huh?

Crap.

I've taken whatever brand I got given by the NHS here. It was fine; I just felt a bit sick for a few hours.
Best to be safe than sorry!

If you're over 17, you can get it right from your pharmacy counter with no prescription.

I've taken it before. And had no side effects or anything. Just depends on the person I guess.

Yes. Take it.
I've taken it twice. Gave me a heavier-than-normal period, but that is all.

I've taken it once back in October. I didn't have any side effects besides my period was about 3 days late & a little heavier than normal...but nothing more than that.

You can only take them for 48 hours after unprotected sex :x
They're more effective early on.

I'd say take one right away regardless of whether it will make you sick or not.
I've known several friends who have gotten pregnant instantly with incidents like this, since women are waaaay more fertile after childbirth :x

i've personally never taken it (: my boyfriend & i haven't had any slip-ups, thank god!
i take birth control faithfully and we use condoms as well. although i will admit i DO have a plan B pill.
i receieved it when i first went to planned parenthood for birth control. [best thing they could ever do, give them out incase anything should ever happen]
i keep mine locked in a safe @ my boyfriends house and frequently check the expiration date so when it's expired i can get a new one.
i think it's a good pill, when used properly (i'm going off of friends' use) but if you just take it because you can't be bothered with a condom, then you shouldn't be allowed to have it / use it.

My Plan B didnt work when i took it, my plan b baby is 2 now ;) but i know a lot of people who have taken it, and with you being only 6 weeks post partum your more fertile so i would take it if i were you. the sooner the better.

I've taken it once, too, and it made me really nauseous. It was before it was OTC when I got it, and the lady at the health department who gave it to me told me that it would more than likely make me sick, so to take it at home and preferably when I was going to bed.

i got mine from my best friend's mom, who is a doctor and she just said nausea sometimes occurred and to eat with it. i took it before i went to bed and ate some supper with it and woke up ten hours later sick to my stomach. my boyfriend (now fiance), trying to be nice, went and bought me a mcgriddle and when i smelled the maple syrup i got sick and stayed sick for hours.

You want to make sure you take it as soon as possible. You have 72 hours for it to work, but the sooner you take it, the more effective it is. All drug stores sell it over the counter without prescription at the Pharmacist counter.

I went to Planned Parenthood and got it. Took the first pill and have to take the 2nd on 12 hours later. I feel a little nauseated from it but that's all. I feel drowsy... but I think I just need a nap lol. :P No babys for a while. Can't imagine having another one right now! Crazy!

Plan B is an amazing thing lol. I've taken it a few times (stupid me for not using protection) and the only side effect i've really noticed was a little cramping.

If you've needed to take it a few times, do you think maybe you should consider a different type of contraception?

never taken it myself. two different friends i know have. one was sick as a dog, but she was usually poorly anyway lol. the other had a bit of cramping, but nothing else. i think with most medications it depends on how your body normally handles meds. my mum, for example, gets every side effect under the sun, where as my dad and i never have issues at all.

not even sure how to go about getting here. should probably ask one of my friends for piece of mind.

Is it just me who's surprised by the number of people who've had to take this? I'm well aware that accidents happen (and I would take it too in the same circumstances) but usually it's due to carelessness. I'm surprised that so many people have been that careless. Not just because of the risk of pregnancy, but because of the risk of STDs from unprotected sex too. Particularly the people who've taken it more than once... surely it's a sign that your choice of contraception is not one which you can take reliably and perhaps you should be using something else?

The only time I have taken it is because the condom broke. So it was a back up plan. Like the commercials say it's a back up for when your other form of contraceptive fails.

Well that's different obviously/ But I'm assuming not everyone here took it because of a broken condom.
