Is there a way to not get certain people to TAG your photos OR to be able to SHARE them on their profiles if you don't want the 3RD party that you have blocked to see them??

First, go on settings on the top of the facebook screen, then click the manage function near privacy. Next, click profile, go down to photo's and video's of me, on the right there are options, these are, everyone, friends only, friends of friends and customise. I suggest friends only, so who ever tags you in a photo, only the people you add as friends can see those photo's. Then, below photo's and video's of me there is photo albums, click on that and turn all your albums to friends only.

Thank you! I have that done already... somewhere I read that facebook doesn't have control over who see's it after they have been tagged or shared in other peoples profile. You know how sometimes on your page, you could see when a friend has been tagged or is sharing a picture to all of their friends... Well, if they have done that and ALL my pictures are "Friends ONLY" (not friends of friends or anything) they are ONLY tagging them so only my friends and NONE of their friends could see it??

I hope I didn't confuse you!!! lol

Yep you are correct, only your friends can see it, even if there are multiple people tagged in the photo.

Your friend posts a picture of you in their photos and tags you. ALL of their friends and ALL of your friends can view that picture. You do, however, have the option to set up privacy so that when images or videos or anything else you are tagged in are posted, no one from your friends list can view it unless they are also friends of the person who posted it.

If the person who posted the picture of you has their photo settings set up as "FRIEND OF FRIEND", then everyone who is a friend of a friend of THEIRS can view that tagged photo, but still from YOUR profile only your friends can see the tagged photo. It all depends on the settings of the profile they use to access the photo in the first place.

So if the person you have blocked is in that person's friends list, they CAN view that picture. If they are in a friends list of someone who is in the friends list of the person who posted the picture, they CAN view that picture. If anything, the blocking of that person doesn't disable them from viewing any pictures of you from a mutual friends profile, it simply means they won't see that you have been tagged in the photo (so they won't see your name underneath where it says "In this photo"). It all depends on the settings of the profile they use to access the photo in the first place.

I should say this is true IF they have their photos set up as FRIEND OF FRIEND. If it is FRIENDS ONLY, only their first-party friends can see it.

Darnit. I keep remembering details to add AFTER I posted the previous one.

Keep in mind that even if the person who posted the picture of you has their photos set up as FRIEND OF FRIEND, if their profile is FRIENDS ONLY, the only way a FRIEND OF FRIEND would be able to even GET to that picture is if the person they are a friend of who is a friend of the person who tagged the photo makes a comment on that photo or "like"s it...or is also tagged themselves.

My friend Emma is the one who puts pictures of us all up, she sets them as friends of friends, however my settings on photo's and video's of me tagged by others is set to my friends only, my friend Tim was on facebook and was looking at the photo's from our christmas dinner, he mentioned there wasn't any of me, there were, but he was on his girlfriends profile, I'm not friends with her, so the photo's where I was tagged didn't show up.

That is not my experience. My ex husband is friends with some of the people I am friends with. I have him blocked. He can view the pictures they have in their profiles that I am tagged in. He can view them because he got to them via that person's profile.

I also have friends who have other friends tagged in their profiles. I am not friends with any of those tagged people, and yet when I am looking at pictures through my friend, I can see every picture that has tagged people that I am not friends with.

Have you selected friends only (which is the friends of the person who posted and tagged the pictures friends) or your friends (just people in your friends list)?

In the privacy settings for photos and videos tagged of me, you have four choices....

Everyone
Friends of Friends
Only Me
Customize

When it comes to my photo albums, they are all set up as friends only or customized for specific friends.

I have everything set up as ONLY ME (when it comes to tagged of me), so that no one viewing from MY PROFILE can view those things tagged of me. However, if my friend Kim posts a picture of me, ALL of her friends can view that picture EVEN if I am tagged in it. I know this to be a fact because pictures that have been tagged of me have comments on them from people I am not friends with. If the scenario you stated is to be true, that would mean that NO ONE except me and the person who posted the picture would have seen it and there would be no comments on it from anyone I am not personally friends with.

On customise I have it set so only me and my friends can view pictures I am tagged in, it would be only the poster and you could see it, unless that person was also on friends only, in that case only you two and your friends in common could view the picture. You have to change the settings every time facebook changes their bloody settings, idiots!

I am right with you on the idiots part. It's ridiculous how often they change those things. Leave well enough alone, already!

Unless they have since changed the settings, ONCE AGAIN, like they seem to enjoy doing so often. In which case, I have no idea. It's been a while since I was tagged in anything.

Yeah, see.. I thought so. Darn. Then, there is hardly anyway to control it unless you tell people to STOP sharing your personal pictures.

Thanks much :P

Let me offer you a suggestion.

Get a friend of yours who is a mutual friend of someone who posts and tags of you. Play with your privacy settings until your friend can't view those tagged images of you anymore from the poster's profile. Transit may very well be right, given that Facebook screws with their coding so often and I haven't been tagged in a while.
