I'm surprised that I'm doing so well. Usually I would be a couple days behind by now, but I'm keeping up pretty well, for once (which is weird).
I'm just SO excited about my story.

Okay, today I only wrote 1K, as opposed to my daily goal of 2500 to finish 75K. It's not a HUGE deal, since I'll still be able to get 50K by the deadline, but I'm mad that I had all this free time and instead just fiddled around on facebook and didn't write much of anything.

I did 3000 on Tuesday and 1000 yesterday, but I'm still 6000 behind to hit 50k. :(

It's my first try this year, never done NaNoWriMo before... I was hesitating because I'm not starting anything new, I'm using NaNoWriMo to help me write the second part of my novel. I'm pulling random scenes out of my head regardless of quality and I'll batch organize them after the 30th. I'm a very very very slow writer, though, and I'm busy with my studies, so I might not get to 50k... I'm lagging behind all the time, always just half the daily goal.

Good luck everybody!!!

The NaNoWriMo organisers say that the second week is the hardest: the first week you are all enthusiastic, and the third and fourth weeks you are excited at your high word counts and the approaching deadline, but the second week you struggle because you're not even half way there and the initial excitement has burnt off.

How are your experiences of second week?

Personally, up until today I had been more enthusiastic about this week than the first week, because things are developing in my novel now, etc., Now, however, I'm feeling a bit disenchanted with the whole project (Millie the Perfectionist has taken over).

Ack, not the perfectionist!!! The perfectionist has to be tackled! I can relate to what you've said, though... in these past two weeks I've been trying to just produce scenes without evaluating, and it's starting to backfire, kind of... because now I feel like nothing makes sense in my writing anymore. I had to jump to an entirely different point in the timeline of my novel and I hope the "change of scene" (literally ;D) will bring back the enthusiastic non-perfectionist.

And it doesn't really help that I'm ALWAYS 10k behind. Always. :-S I've just got past 15k but tomorrow it should be 25k already... baaaaaah.

I eked out the 50K and gave up. I meant to do 75K, but I couldn't find out where to end my story. So, I've got a shiny, brand new plot with similar characters/story, and am working on that. I did get the original 50K, but it's not as good as I thought it was going to be.

WOW. Go you! I'm only halfway through, so 75k seems impossible to me in the first place ;D ;D ;D Haha! Good luck with your story!

Hello! :)
I'm at 33k now :-S. I hope you're doing much better, haha!
I think I'm going to fail. But even so, it's unbelievable that I had written more than 100 pages in a month. ;D So it wasn't all for nothing!

Congratulations! :) And congratulations to everyone who won!!! You guys rock!

I stopped at almost 35,000. It is a big achievement already, for me, because I'm a very slow writer. NaNo gave me precious boost and I'm very pleased and thankful, and I'll continue writing just as I've written this story for 7 years 9 months :). Probably a bit faster, though... Hahaha.

I won, I won!
I only had 31k on Friday and was absolutely ready to throw in the towel, but then my husband told me I wasn't allowed, so I wrote like a demon and FINISHED at just over 50k this morning.
It's not a novel I would ever think about publishing, or even letting anyone read, but I am PROUD of it nonetheless!
