i didn't wait for marriage. i was very young, just shy of my 14th birthday. i regret doing it THAT young, but i don't regret not waiting for marriage. i got married in july of 2008 just 2 weeks after finding out i was pregnant. i think that you need to go with your heart and your gut with this. if you think you should wait then definitely wait because you may regret it later.

I didn't wait until marriage, I didn't grow up in a religious family so it was never something that was instilled into me. I lost my virginity right before my 14th birthday. I was with the guy for 3 months, I mostly did it because I was curious to what it would be like. I don't regret it, I did care for him a lot and we were together a little over a year. With my current boyfriend we waited until we were officially together for 4 days lol. We had known each other for 10 years before that, and we were friends. We're still together 5 years later. I don't regret anything, I think you should wait until you are ready. Everyone is different, and there is no right or wrong answer.

I'm waiting. It's really hard to say no sometimes, but the anticipation of a first kiss, a first touch, a first date makes the actual act so much better and much more worth it. I try to have no regrets, so even if I did I wouldn't "regret it" like so many are saying they don't, but I wouldn't regret waiting, either.

Say no. Try new things with what you already do. Savor each moment.

You don't buy a car without test driving first.

I think waiting for marriage is foolish. You and your SO may be romantically compatible, but are you sexually compatible? What if you like to experiment but your partner's hardline vanilla? What if your partner likes to go all night long but you're bored after 20 minutes?

Sure, for some people sexual incompatibility is not an issue. But for the 99% of the rest of us for whom sex is important in a relationship, it'd be better to find out these discrepancies while you're still dating and can split up without too much trouble as opposed to finding them out when you're in a legally-binding, hard-to-get-out-of contract.
