Okay so I got my costume today, and I am going to be Marilyn Monroe, except the wig is horrible! It's all tangled and stuff and it's nylon so I can't brush it. I was wondering if anyone knew, or had any ideas to get it looking better? If not I'll just have to return it, cause it looks nothing like the package looks like lol.

Try looking on ebay for another wig. They have a lot of cheap fancy dress accessories on there. I just bought Mickey Mouse ears for my friend on there for £2.80.

I just went ahead and searched on eHow... And there are some tips for nylon hair...

Detangling Nylon Hair

Styling Nylon Hair

While you can't use a brush on it, I think you'll be able to use a comb. I just styled my Kate G. wig (party tonight), and used hairspray, scissors, and a couple different combs to fix that crap. I think the only things you shouldn't use on nylon are heat.

Incidentally, I think you'll be a very pretty Marilyn!

Thanks for the help, I tried to search online and didn't find anything! I will have to try these things tonight, and will use a very wide tooth comb and try to comb it out. =]

I washed it, and put conditioner in it and brushed it through. It helped it a lot with detangling, but the I think the wig is just too messed up because I end up looking like Albert Einstein rather than Marilyn Monroe. So I am just going to return it tomorrow and be a flapper girl or something. Thanks so much for your help, and thanks the the compliment. =]

I'm sure she realized that, she was just looking for any other ideas to maybe fix it? Yeah.
