I was wondering what everyones fave horror movies are?
I've recently watched "orpahan" (Which I didn't think was that scary, not really a horror) "Mirrors" was good though... I love all the freddie movies, scream, you know those typical american teen horrors (which are kind of funny at times rather than spooky).
What are your fave horror movies?
And, what movie is the scariest you've ever watched?

P.S I am sorry if there's been a thread like this before, I couldn't find it when I looked thru the threads though.

yes, I just got it today. It's gory as hell!

And The Hills Run Red is like...House Of A 1000 Corpses, Saw, and Texas Chainsaw massacre all rolled into ONE!

The Hills Have Eyes was good. The second one was complete trash, though.

It's so weird that I did not find any of the movie trailer the least bit scary, but I am usually scared pretty easily. I've heard everyone talking about how scary it's going to be, but I'm like how do you even know that just by seeing the trailer.

I just got back from seeing that about half an hour ago. It's scary alright.

It's creepy because it uses suspense to scare the bejesus out of you. The whole time I was in the theatre I was just WAITING for something. Anything. A noise, a shadow to move, a door to slam. And when something did happen HOLY HELL.

I'm sleeping with the lights on tonight...if I get any sleep at all.

I don't really find horror films that scary anymore. I find thrillers scarier. Rob Zombie films are pretty scary like The Devils Rejects, House of a Thousand Corpses, Halloween. He is so good at the thriller parts. There is one movie that is pretty scary, it's Grave Dancers. That movie made me jump and cover my eyes. I seen so many scary films, I cannot think of anymore at the top of my head that scared me. What lies beneath is a thriller but its freaken creepy!

My faves: The Omen (original), The Exorcist (original), The Shining, The Prophecy series, a few Johnny Depp horrors like Ninth Gate, From Hell, The Secret Window - but NOT Sweeny Todd :O. Vincent Price is my all time favourite horror actor..can't recall his movies I've seen tho. It's been a while. lol

Leaves from Satan's Book isn't really considered a horror, but it's spooky. And a silent film. So extra spooky.

The scariest movie I've ever seen was Stephen King's IT. But I was 7 the first time I saw it. That's the only one that's ever managed to give me nightmares.

I watched IT when I was about the same age, I am 26 now and STILL terrified of clowns. Which is amusing because I'm old enough now to know better :p.

Silent Hill gave me the creeps. I didn't find Orphan scary at all either. The Devils Rejects wasn't scary to me just disguisting. Wrong Turn creeped me out. I guess I'm mostly scared of movies that could actually happen.

OH Silent Hill! VERY creepy movie.

Rec. (the original Spanish movie) is really quite scary. And 28 Days Later.

And of course The Exorcist, although I did watch it at the grand old age of 11; I doubt I'd find it that scary now.

God, i love horror movies.

My favorite of all time is Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original 1974 version). Scared the ever loving shit out of me first time i watched it.

I also like : The Strangers, 13 ghosts, Shutter. Any and all zombie movies. I dig the wrong turn/hills have eyes movies as well, mostly for the blood and guts.

The Strangers didn't really scare me, it was the whole concept of it that scared me! I had a scary experience in Mount Shasta about 4 years ago that makes me cringe when I watch it, haha.

I'd say The Strangers is the scariest one I've seen. I think it's the fact that people can really do that. And the masks just plain creep me out.

I also forgot to add Chuckie! I watched it when I was a kid & from then on I had dreams about my dolls coming to life trying to kill me! It didn't help that my mom collected porcelin dolls either for me & put them in my room! I always thought they were staring at me.

I love horror movies, though most don't scare me...
My favorite is Thirteen Ghosts. It's not that scary, but it's got a good back story.
Any remake of a Stephen King book is bound to be good, even if it's low budget. The Stand, Needful Things, Carrie are a couple of my favorites.
Oh, for a real creepy one, watch Misery! There's no supernatural elements, just Kathy Bates as a creepy fan. Awesome.

Rest Stop scared the shit out of me. Me and my ex watched it while we were out camping [in a cabin] and I waited until daylight to go pee outside. I slept with the lights on for about a week too hahahaha.
