i came across of a fun blog. kind of an older generation telling a younger generation helpful tidbits in life,
things such as buying nice furniture because you'll end up having it a lot longer than you plan, or waiting til after college to get a credit card (boy do i wish i would've done that one!)
i thought it'd be fun to see what bloopers had to say. :-)

oya~ here are some of mine!

~don't be afraid to treat yourself. we spend too much time putting our self down "should've could've would've" but not enough time recognizing when we do well.
~don't waste time with a guy who isn't 'the one'. it sounds lame, but you'll know when it's him. have fun, date, have boyfriends, but don't stay in a relationship because 'you think you can make it work'. if he's the right guy, it'll just work.
~find someone you trust to teach you about credit cards and debt. even if it's the lady from the bank. i learned the hard way about credit card debt, i wish i would've listened to my mom.
~listen to your mom. she's usually right, even if you don't want to, or can't see it now. eventually you will.
~don't be afriad to ask questions or ask for help.

WHAT THE PUCK HAS TO SAY ABOUT SUCH A QUESTION IS THAT IT SHOULD BE 'THINGS I WISH I HAD KNOWN', NOT 'THINGS I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN'.

GOSH, I AM IN GRAMMAR MODE TODAY, YO!

LET'S SEE... WHAT HAVE I LEARNT? DIFFERENT FROM YOURS, YO. LIKE I HAVE NEVER BEEN AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS. I HAVE LEARNT THAT I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T ASK QUESTIONS SO MUCH (HOWEVER, I DON'T LET THAT LESSON STOP ME!). I HAVE ALSO LEARNT THAT I SHOULD NEVER HAVE LISTENED TO ANYTHING MY MOTHER SAID. I'VE ALWAYS AVOIDED DEBT - I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN OUT A STUDENT LOAN OR TWO, YO. I AM NOT AFRAID TO TREAT MYSELF, YO - GOSH, I REALLY NEED TO NOT TREAT MYSELF SO OFTEN. I MUST GO EASY ON THE DORITOS! AND NO, I DON'T WASTE TIME ON GUYS, YO.

HMM... I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T GIVE MY HELPFUL TITBITS TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION, BECAUSE MINE ARE ALL THE WRONG WAY AROUND, YO!

ACTUALLY, THINGS I WISH I HAD KNOWN ARE, LIKE, THE MUSIC AND LYRICS TO MUSICALS BEFORE THEY WERE WRITTEN. LIKE, IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME KNOWING WHAT I KNOW NOW... THEN AT FIVE YEARS OLD, I COULD HAVE CLAIMED TO HAVE WRITTEN 'WICKED' OR 'RENT' OR 'PHANTOM OF THE OPERA', AND TOTALLY MADE MY MILLIONS, YO!

I wish I would have known:
that being homesick doesn't mean you have to give up and go home.
that paying your bills on time (even if it leaves you broke) is the best thing to do.
that isolating yourself doesn't help anything.
that you can't change other people, you can just change yourself.
that getting close to someone doesn't have to be scary.

I wish I'd known how important education was. I did well at school, but there's always room for improvement. And when you're a kid, it's FREE! If I want to take classes in something now, I have to pay. Sucks! I never took full advantage of the education system at school.

I wish I'd known that there was a whole big wide world outside of London. I grew up thinking that my city was the centre of the universe, and nowhere else was worth visiting unless on a 2-week-holiday in the sun. If I could go back I'd definitely spend a lot more of my long-student-summers travelling. It's unlikely I'll have the same freedom to do so over the next few years.

I wish I'd known that I wasn't God's gift to humanity. I grew up with a bit of a God complex. It pretty much wrecked me when it dawned that I wasn't infallible or immortal or supremely entitled. It is still grating on me now, yo!!

don't make yourself suffer through an education to please someone else. it leads to unnecessary unhappiness, stress and debt.

Don't waste your time in a job you hate. IF you love doing something, you can make a living off of it if you try hard enough and make sacrifices. This I learned from coming home from jobs sobbing because they were terrible. I'd rather sell all my possessions than work in a crappy job.
