my first cd was either play or up from great big sea - i was... fourteen? or twelve? i can't remember. it was the bright yellow one, anyway. i had several tapes before that, but can't remember what they were. i got the cd and a discman for my birthday that year.

i don't even remember when i got really into mp3s and such, but i know it was probably around eighteen or so (i'm 23 now). that's also, coincidentally, when i learned how to download. ;D

I WAS 16, YO! ON MY 16TH BIRTHDAY, I WAS GIVEN A STEREO, WITH A CD PLAYER ON IT! HOW JOLLY EXCITING THAT WAS! I'D JUST HAD A LITTLE TAPE RECORDER BEFORE. FATT DAD GOT RATHER WORRIED THOUGH WHEN HE READ THE YELLOW STICKER INSIDE THE CD PLAYER - ALL ABOUT DANGER OF RADIATION! HE TOLD ME TO KEEP AWAY FROM IT WHEN IT WAS PLAYING AND NOT OPEN IT UP UNTIL IT HAD STOPPED. THE STEREO ALSO HAD A RECORD PLAYER ON IT - A NICE AMALGAMATION OF OLD AND NEW. I DIDN'T BUY CD'S THOUGH - I BORROWED THEM FROM THE LIBRARY AND RECORDED THEM ONTO BLANK TAPES. I BOUGHT A COUPLE OF RECORDS - MARTI WEBB IN 'TELL ME ON A SUNDAY' AND JULIE COVINGTON IN 'EVITA'. I LIKED RECORDS BECAUSE YOU COULD FIND OLD RECORDINGS THAT WERE NOT FOR SALE ON TAPES OR CD'S.

My first tape was The Outthere Brothers single "Boom Boom Boom" when I was 8 lol. And my first cd was Alanis Morrissette's Jagged Little Pill the same year. MP3's i knew about in 1999 when we got the internet, and I've never owned an mp3 player or ipod, I do have a couple mp3's on my phone though. But back in the day, most of my music came from the radio, I'd have me a blank tape in and every time a song finished I'd run up to the radio and get ready to record. I had like 2 tapes full of awesome radio hits, then my brother taped over them

My first tape was Michael Jackson's Thriller album back in 1982. I was 4 and my mom and I used to sing along to it in her car. I was terrified of the laugh at the end of Thriller, though. :p

The first time I saw a CD was in Japan in 1985 but it was such high tech that nobody had even heard of CD players yet. My first CD was Mr. Big (I'm the one who wants to be with youuuuu....) circa 1990, maybe? I was about 11 at the time.

My first iPod was given to me as a Chrismas present in 2003. Ever since then I've had that ipod, a creative zen, another ipod (the one I currently use) and an iPhone. Yeah, apple owns me.
