We do have roundabouts but they aren't that common. I've only seen them in a few cities and in my state, the driver have to yield to other cars that are already in the roundabout.

When I went to Germany it was strange seeing damage left by the war, the sewerage system in Berlin was above ground in large pipes, it was very strange.

I was born and raise in Las Vegas, and still live here. so when I go anywhere, I cant believe 7/11 closes! wtf?!? not even a grocery store, I'm so not used to stores closing, I live in a 24 hr city. anyway, i only been to Canada and Mexico. Canada (Vancouver) seemed so clean, teh streets were clean. Mexico(Tijuana) seemed so dirty, lol
I guess vegas in a middle ground, dirty, but not dirty dirty.

anyway, you cause should listen to an american in Japan, goes by the name of DC on youtube. He just today is telling what it's like to go see a movie in Japan, quite hilarious! ;D

I've never seen a 7/11 in the States except for once in OKC.

In Taiwan however, they're literally on every block. I love them. XD I still remember the jingle and I haven't heard it in like a decade. They sold the most... wonderful, amazing Taiwanese "junk food." So great. :D

Come to think of it... the only place I've seen a 7/11 is in Australia. I don't remember ever seeing on in the states either.

They're not really popular in the States anymore. Taiwan is a totally different story. XD

Maybe it's a west coast thing? We have 7/11's EVERYWHERE here. Southern California has a ton of them, and we have a lot here in Washington where I live, as well. I've always lived within a 2-block vicinity of one.

I know Alabama has, like, NONE. It's ridiculous. I go into Slurpee withdrawals when I'm there.

It might be. I heard a few years ago that they were going under? IDK. I've never seen one in KS or here in Bama, FL, Tx.... Really, any of the states I've been to except for OKC. xD

Differences between Taiwan and the US: Hm. The traffic. The traffic is HORRIBLE and I've been/lived in big cities. Doesn't even compare.

THE HEAT. I live in the South... and Taiwan is still way more horrible

The night markets are to die for.

Taiwanese cakes are soooooo good and won't get you a sugar heart attack. Cakes here? *passes out*

How every fast food joint (McD's, KFC, Burger King) is 10x tastier than it's American counterparts. :D Even the "Taiwanese Italian" food is amazing. :D

Taiwanese vendors on the side of the road. They don't answer to any health department and yet the food is amazing, sanitary, and no one gets sick.

Taiwanese airplane food is amazing. Even the economy seats food. It's goooood. :D

When i was in pureto rico last most of the houses didnt have A/C. I about wanted to die its so freaking hot there.

In most neighborhoods here you leave your trash on the curb or bring your trash cans to the curb on trash day and the garbage men drive by and collect it. Well in PR at least in my dads town the trash cans are like built in to the front yard.

US news is very different than latin american news. US news never show dead bodies (unless covered by a sheet or in a body bag) on the spanish news they will show you exactly how bodies are found murdered, in car accidents, at funerals.

In PR everything closes in (my dads) town. My sister had a famle emergencey at 7pm on a sunday night and was pretty much SOL because it was late and all the stores were closed. haha. i love living in a place where if i need something at 11pm or 3am i can go to the store and get it.

There isnt a walmart in everytown in PR. we had to travel about 25mins to a walmart and the crime rate and everything is so bad that they have security towers in the parking lot. I am not sure if my dad said the guards were armed or not.

There are bars on everything in PR. All the doors, all the windows, the car ports have gates (bars). My abuelo (grandfather) used to park his car inside the car port. He locked the steering wheel with one of those club locks. haha inside the gate that was locked and also had a chain with another lock wrapped around it. He always took the club with him and used it where ever he went.

The roads are soo tiny because there is nowhere else to park but the streets. So lets so its a 2 lane road and on both sides of the road are parked cars. the driving is terrible in PR too. we weren in a car accident the first day we got there the last time we went. I seriously think that they should have tiny cars, scooters, and mopeheads (sp?). The island is so small anyways its not like anyone will be in the car more than 2 hrs anyways. haha.

We went to the movie theater in PR and the movie was played in english with spanish subtitles. I thought that was ridiculous it should be the other way around. How awful is it to pay for a movie in your island or country (even though yes PR is still a US territory it is still very much different than the US) and maybe you dont speak english so you just paid to read a movie. that has to be horrible. although now a days most ricans are taught both english and spanish in school.

I think the US sucks with the whole language thing. Growing up we were taught we were the lazier country because in most other countries everyone knows at least 2 languages. In the US we are only required to learn english and maybe take a semester or 2 of a foreign language.
