I was about 11... and remember watching the news with the accident on the telly.. and I think I was at school when they announced her actual death, or at least I vaguely remember a teacher telling us. I also remember watching the funeral and I cried watching that because I cried watching anything on tv at that age, especially if someone on the TV was crying.. which everyone was. I wasn't really crying coz she was dead... I was crying coz I was a sook.

I can't remember how old I was--probably about 16 or so. I was on the phone with my friend when they interrupted the television show to announce that she had passed--it was so sad.

For 9/11 I had just got to school when my friend told me that a plane had crashed into a building. I didn't get the big deal about it until I got to my first period class and my teacher was glued to the tv. The atmosphere around school was so solemn--it was horrible. I called my parents and they were at home watching it.

I think I was 9 years old when it happened, I don't remember where I was when I found out. I do remember my family sitting around the TV watching the news about her.

i was 8 or 9 i'm guessing (i'm 21) and i had no clue who she was. i remember hearing about it though. i was at my family's cottage and walking down the street and i heard someone say, "Princess Di died!" and I went back and asked my mom who she was. then i watched the news and remembered the huge funeral procession. i remember elton john singing candle in the wind, too. but that's it.

i remember distinctly where i was on september 11th. i was in spanish class in 8th grade. the other teacher came in and turned on the tv. the rest of the day was a complete circus, with people going home early. one of my first thoughts (keep in mind i was like 13) was "I guess TRL will be canceled today, then?"

i was....9? And i remember hearing everyone talking about it but i had no idea who she was at the time. I read a headline in a grocery store tabloid that basically explained all that i cared to know at the time. But truthfully i really dont think the death of MJ has anything to do with the death of Princess Di. Diana was a charity worker. MJ was a pedo. Diana was loved by millions. So was MJ, but need i remind the robots of american media how badly you all hated him when he named his kid blanket, or when he dangled his kid over a balcony, or when he drove himself 400 MILLION dollars in debt? idk. I see no connection between the two, Diana was a great person, MJ could dance.

I didnt say they had anything to do with each other. The media footage on every channel and the world wide hooplah his death has caused reminded me of her death.

MJ was an alleged pedophile. He also did not name his son blanket. His sons name is Prince Michael Jackson II, his nickname is blanket. MJ was also a millionaire who was in debt. But what american is not in a shit ton of debt. I mean my car alone sets me at about 16,000 in debt and i am unemployed not to mention my credit cards and loans. I mean my debt may as well be 400 million. Cuz it is way more than i bring in any year. His debt means nothing he also had to pay legal fees, attorneys, he gave tons of money to charity, and he had to pay those moochers that took advantage of him off when he settled with them. Those without debt or those who have ever had debt should cast the first stone. MJ was way more than a dancer. He was just as much a huminitarian as princess di.

Calm down, lol. No need to get all up in a tizzy. I'll admit, i am DEFINITELY, nowhere NEAR as "educated" as you are on Michael Jackson cos i really dont care enough about people other than myself unless they've done something that actually deserves the attention. MJ? Not so much. And actually, i am an american who is not in a shitton of debt :D i've never been in debt before, unless you count the wait time between charging things to my card and paying the bill. His debt actually means a whole lot though because he wouldnt be 400 mil in the red if he didnt insist upon living in an amusement park for no evident reason and keeping a monkey named bubbles. Anybody who says this guy wasnt a total weirdo is doing nothing but kidding themselves. He's an alleged pedo, that makes it better? No, it really doesnt. I blame the parents for letting him near their kids but mostly, yeah, his fault, cos he was the one performing the snuggle parties. Grown man snuggling with a bunch of kids and giving them wine, calling it jesus juice? Yeah i'd say he was a pretty sick individual. If you found out your neighbor was doing that, you'd bug out. But it's okay when celebrities do it? No. MJ was a pedo. And now there's one less pedo in the world.

I WAS IN CANADA, YO. CAMPING ON AN ISLAND. SOME GUY TOLD ME AND I TOTALLY THOUGHT HE WAS JOKING. LATER EVERYONE KEPT GIVING ME THEIR CONDOLENCES, AS IF IT WERE A PERSONAL LOSS - AND THEY SEEMED QUITE SHOCKED THAT I WASN'T EXPERIENCING ANY GRIEF. THEY ASSURED ME THAT IN ENGLAND PEOPLE WERE TOTALLY INCONSOLABLE. AND INDEED, WHEN I TALKED TO MY FAVE SIS ON THE PHONE, SHE TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS INDEED THE CASE - ALTHOUGH SHE IS A SENSIBLE PERSON LIKE ME AND WAS NOT WEEPING FOR A WOMAN SHE NEVER KNEW!

I was on vacation in the South of France and I was playing pool when my parents saw the news on the TV at the hotel! lol

I lived in Paris at the time so it was all about oh my, where was it, what happened, what?

I remember getting back to Paris though. The tunnel where it happened was fairly close to my house and I'd walk above it every day... there were ALWAYS flowers there. It was pretty insane. Even years later, that thing was never flowerless.

lol I remember it almost exactly like mami2moisesito. I was ten, watching Scream (geez 8-|) with my Dad and brothers, when we turned it off her death was all over the news. I wasn't very affected by it since I was young and didn't know who she was...when my mom called me and told me MJ died I practically dropped the phone :-p.

It was in 1997, if I remember correctly? I remember our neighbour running across the road to tell my dad 'Diana's dead!' and we thought they were talking about my mum (whose name is also Diana) and we were like, umm, no, she's in our loungeroom watching TV. xD
