When we moved to Australia from Peru, my whole family was shocked at how people burped in public! Like Full blown loud burps!!
At 9 years old, I had never ever heard a human being burp that loudly. Mum was so disgusted and still is.

I've lived in Australia my whole life and I think that's pretty disgusting. xD And I never see people burp in public. xD Where were you (like, what city/state) when you were surrounded by burpers? xD

Oh well not like ALL the time, but we noticed straight away that people burped loudly at peoples parties or say teens at McDonalds.
We lived in Sydney when we noticed.

I live in Sydney! Hahaha. xD Must've been a bunch of pretty obnoxious teens. Anyway I'm sure you've worked out that burping in public is certainly not normal Sydneysider behaviour. xD

I was walking past Starbucks in Stratford once with some Americans behind me. It was about 10pm and I heard them go, 'Wow as if Starbucks doesn't stay open!'

Gosh, I wish they did. But we are very much NOT a 24 hour place, unless you go to like central London or something. I remember coming out of the Comedy Store with a pounding headache and there was an open newsagents right in front of me, selling paracetamol. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

Most big supermarkets are open 24 hours here though. I don't think that's the case in the US. And I know of a few newsagents (and even a bakery) that are open 24 hours.

England has Sunday trading laws (Which are total commie shit, yo!) meaning that 24 hour supermarkets have to close at 10:30 on Saturday nights, and open only between 10 and 4 on a Sunday. Before resuming 24 hour trading on Monday at 7am. Sucks!!!

I know. It' the same in Wales. I always forget when I visit my family there that I can't go to the supermarket after 4pm on a Sunday. :P

In Scotland, 24 hours MEANS 24 hours and most big supermarkets here are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

My husband and I just got back from Virginia. They had 7-Elevens on every corner of every street it seemed like. Waffle and pancake houses were all over too. Williamsburg probably had 15 or so. How many of those places does a town need?? lol Can't forget the IHOP's either. Here in Ohio, we hardly have any of those places.

What I've noticed is that in Indiana, north of Indianapolis you do NOT see Waffle Houses, but once you hit Indy they dot every town along 65. ;D It's kind of eerie and makes me sad that us northern hoosiers don't get a damned Waffle House to ogle!

I guess that depends on who you ask ;). Here in my small town, Waffle House was open 24/7 (aren't they all?) and after everything else closed and it was a late night, all the teenagers flocked to Waffle House for 2am breakfasts and good times. Personally, I LOVE their food... especially their hashbrowns!

lol, no , not really. one of my favorite comedians, Jim Gaffigan, said recently "have you been to Waffle House? If you haven't, imagine a gas station bathroom that serves waffles. That's Waffle House."
LOL. Down here it's mainly known for being open 24 hrs., so drunk teenagers can go and act cool and come in for hangover food. :-P
