well i'm sure originally she had a wedding dress and he wore a suit. i don't even want to wear one the first time we do our vows. i can understand her not wanting to renew her vows as i think renewing vows is a waste of money and time in my opinion.

nah, don't worry about that do what you want. I had a wedding and I don't regret it, I love my pictures-but I honestly think they can often get too big/stressful. you have to do what feels right to you. we could have had a much smaller one looking back on it (and it was already small-only less than 50 people). It didn't really matter how much we spent on it. I was happy with ours, but the vows (which lasted all of ten minutes) were the important part-everything thing else is fluff, really.

if you guys ever compromise on yours (like beyond just wearing the hoodie :-P), I have seen some really great pics of brides in more casual dresses, or even short (like knee length, retro) dresses. I've also seen grooms in khaki pants/white shirts, or in tuxes but with converse sneakers. :-P.

I spent all up $1200AU on my dress... most over here seem to be $2000+ which doesn't suit me at all! I even wasn't willing to pay so much for mmine but did in the end... Wore my mum's veil though which tied in well

My dress was about $500 at David's - it was on a major sale. Alterations and accessories probably brought the total close to about $800. And obviously, I'm a big fan of pick-up dresses! :)

I'm also a fan of pick up dresses. In fact, you and I tried on most of the same dresses, didn't we?!? :) Well, I might as well post a picture of mine:

That shows all of my veils, dress, tiara.. although it doesn't show the top of the dress very well. Hmm.

That shows the top, strapless, which I wasn't planning on (I planned on a halter top like yours), but fell in love with anyway.

I love this on you! I'm glad I ended up with a halter after all the strapless I tried on because I think the halter flatters me more. You have perfect shoulders for this type of dress. Did you get yours at Davids Bridal? I think I've seen something similar that I almost tried on!

Everyone has such BEAUTIFUL dresses! I think about what i'd want my wedding dress to look like, and I want a really simple wedding so I think about just wearing a really nice fancy cocktail dress that I would definitely wear again to another occasion. Something with green in it or maybe a floral design :0)

Your dress is GORGEOUS on you! I'm less than 4 months to my wedding and I haven't even bought a dress or tried one on. I'm going to try on dresses next Monday I think, and I hope David's Bridal has a look-a-like to this dress.

That way I can raise the hem, dye it and wear it all the time after the wedding. :) Fh and I are budding environmentalists, so it's important that we have an eco-friendly wedding. Plus, we're getting married in the park and I plan on wearing flats made from help and recycled rubber from Simple Shoes.

have you checked out the 'Galina' line of dresses on David's Bridal's website? they are the simpler style, probably the closest they have to the dress in your link. :)
