I just wanted to share this with everyone I'm not sure what all states its available in and there isn't an income requirement it just genuinely helps when you need to pinch the pennies. Check it out

What is Angel Food Ministries?
With a heart to help others and a generous spirit, Joe and Linda Wingo founded Angel Food Ministries in 1994 to provide food for friends and neighbors who were struggling financially. Today, they are still doing the same thing. The Angel Food program now is helping provide food relief to more than 500,000 families each month.

There is no income requirement at all! Some of the food is a little questionable, but for the price it is def. worth it! I've done it a few times, but haven't recently.

This sounds good to me! I never have heard of it, but I might try it. I have to ask though, where you embarrassed to buy this? I mean - that's probably stupid. But do the people think your homeless or hurt? Or a bum? Anything to stay away from? And I can order how ever many boxes I want?

Hah no I don't feel like a bum because we're struggling and this helps us make ends meet. Even if we weren't its a good way to make what money you have stretch further especially in these times. They get it for such low prices because they buy it in bulk from producers and such. You can order as many boxes as you like. They ask that you buy one of the main boxes like meats and stuff before buying the specials with fruits and veggies.

I actually think I'm going to try it for the next couple of weeks. I found a local one. I just got a job, so we were hurting the last couple of weeks and this might actually be a great way for us to get back on our toes, firmly. I think the reason that they have no financial check or anything because anyone can do it. People who really need it are people like us. And you have to buy it; so you have to have some kind of money anyways.

Thanks for this!

My concern is there will be those who aren't financially struggling taking advantage of the VERY GENEROUS reduction in cost and taking food away from someone who REALLY needs it. It's happened, I've seen it. And it's disgusting.

The reason they can probably get such reductions is how popular the ministry is. There's no income requirement, and I know a lot pf people that buy this way to help with their budgets (what I mean is buying this way keeps them out of the store and helps them from spending money they don't need to). I can't see how people can take it away from someone who really needs it, anyone can order. I've never seen a limit put on it. But that's just in the churches around here, I guess. They accept just about all forms of payment, including foodstamps. And if someone is really hard up, most bigger churches (which is usually the kind doing Angel Food) have HUGE food pantries available to the needy as well.
