Yeah, my friend was Chinese, but raised over here and she was constantly ranting about her race's racism.

Also, Russia isn't doing so badly in the world markets as you make out. It's has one of the 10 largest oil reserves in the world (which is more than the U.S can claim), so if we consider it's potential for influence in world markets, it could easily cripple many countries. How many countries do you want them to disable before they can be classed as a superpower?

Actually I am quite sure that they will regain their status as a superpower and soon as it would fit into biblical prophecy concerning End Time events.

China is actually a superpower now, but nobody recognizes them because they don't openly use their power and influence on the world. They do it very quietly and discreetly and is why they are called the "sleeping giant". China is the largest holder of US Treasury bonds in the world. We pay over 25% of our budget every month to the Chinese in INTEREST payments on the money that we borrow from them for our National Debt (which is just them buying US Treasury bonds, that have a 0% default rate and are backed by the US Government 100%, meaning those who purchase them WILL get their money).

If China was to call in all their Treasury Bonds, the United States of America would go bankrupt and we would be owned by the Chinese. (Well, technically we're already owned by the Chinese in much the same way as the bank still owns your house as long as you still have a mortgage). This is why we do alot of things with the Chinese that people sit back and say, "Why are we working with communists? Why are these companies sending all their jobs over to China." That's exactly why. The government gave those companies huge tax incentives to move to China to employ the Chinese people (at a much lower rate than they would have to pay in the USA) thereby offering Americans cheaper products but also giving the Chinese what they want and allowing the Chinese government to make money (as it's a communist state) that WE could turn around and borrow from them!

We work with the Chinese in ways that our people would never agree with if they knew about it. We give them 'secrets' all the time to keep the flow of money coming into our country because our government is quite inefficient and much too large. The Chinese military is much stronger, and larger, than we could imagine and by sheer number of forces, they could probably win if they were to get involved. They don't want to get involved yet...but at some point in time, they will, and when they do - it will be ugly for everyone in the world. Nobody wants to wake the sleeping giant.

But eventually it will happen. The United States will fall, probably as a result of economic problems, as will all of the other superpowers in the world (Britain, France, Germany, Russia, etc). Every Empire eventually falls.

The Chinese people have been around much longer than any other civilization of people, we would be well served to do as they do and stay out of other people's problems. We should focus on our own people and not meddle so much in other people's affairs, which would greatly benefit our own people and perhaps we could have lower taxes, better health care, less of a poverty gap, etc.. It is because of our constant meddling that so many people hate Americans and have these stereotypes of Americans. Although, many countries do come to us for assistance, especially 3rd World countries, because they know that we will help them. We almost always do - as long as there is something in it for us.

Also, we give money to every other country in the world, and we have a hand in the majority of the leaders in our world being in power right at this very moment. If we don't like someone else who might win an election in El Salvador, the CIA goes in and discreetly assassinates them. We do try to manipulate many things in the world, at the same time, when something happens, the world looks to us to see what we're going to do before they follow suit. Bush's Iraq War pulled our clout down a notch, but Obama will bring it back because the world loves Obama. That does not mean that that USA won't one day fall, though, because he is only a temporary fix, much like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. But Obama will continue working with the Chinese because he also still needs their money.

That's how it is. People should not be so naive to think that we are the greatest or that we do no wrong or that our way is the best way or that other cultures are not interesting and beneficial. We can learn from other countries, but we choose not to because everyone else in the world has 'taught' us that we are the best. In the same way that children learn what they live and we teach people how to treat us - the world has given the USA this over-inflated ego, largely based on WWI and WWII, when we had to help the countries in Europe. That's why even the Europeans pay so much attention to us and why our election was on their news as much as it was on our news, although their elections aren't on our news that way.

On a separate note, as for people being condescending, it seems to me that a few of the very same ones who are pointing it out to others behave in exactly the same manner, or even who behave worse because they often resort to name-calling when they have no other intelligent argument to make or who find something else to nit-pick about, such as the person's inability to use paragraphs, as was stated in the "What do you think about American forum." Some people on this site think that they are the most intelligent being on the planet and that they are always right. That is not the case when you are dealing with opinions or things that have evidence to the contrary. Every opinion can be backed by some sort of evidence supporting that opinion. Everyone needs to be more respectful. Certain people are have over-inflated egos of themselves and become very upset when they are challenged by someone they see is not actually a moron. Don't get me wrong - there are people out there who are ignorant and who are simply dumb, but in order to be both respected and considered civilized in a debate, you should not go around calling people names and acting immaturely when someone disagrees with you. Some people should take a look at their own behavior before pointing out negative things about other people's behavior. People often hate qualities in other people that are actually most prevalent in themselves. It's an outward way of self-hatred. They just don't want to see it in themselves.

Certainly everyone CAN be respectful; some people CHOOSE not to be - and then wonder why a lot of people don't like them. If more than one person - hell, if more than 10 people - tell you that you are condescending or confrontational or arrogant or think you're better than everyone else - then that is exactly the behavior that you are exhibiting and you should be adult enough to check yourself!

I don't think the United States will crash and burn, then cease to exist as some people would like to believe, but I do think it will be surpassed in terms of economic and military power, possibly by China or Russia.

I don't think that the US will 'cease to exist' but it won't exist as it is now, much like the Empire of Rome fell but Rome still exists today, just differently than it was back when Caesar was around.

As disturbing as it is, I look forward to the "fall" of the United States of America. At the very least, we'll be humbled.

We're a young nation that achieved too much power much too quickly.

What is interesting is there doesn't appear to be any reference to the US in Biblical prophecy. Makes you wonder why?

There are some who believe that some of the references are the United States. It may not be mentioned by name, obviously, but that doesn't mean it isn't referenced. I think it depends on how you interpret the Prophecies. I'm sure they will become more obvious the closer we get, though.

Psa 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

This is the only reference I am aware of where some believe might equate to the United States...The Lion being Britain and the young lion was the one coming out of Great Britain being the United States

I have heard the following theories as well.

1. Where is the United States in Bible Prophecy?
One of the most common questions regarding Bible prophecy is where is the United States in scripture? Many nations of the world are not mentioned in scripture, however it is hard to understand how the world's most powerful nation would not be. At least not in a way that we recognize it clearly.

There are many theories and ideas as to why this is but here are three of the most common:

The United States is no longer relevant
The United States is destroyed
The United States is no longer its own country - but part of a larger union of nations - possibly controlled by the Antichrist.

Well , the whole theory of the " end of the world " and all is moving believe me . But as much as I hate to say it people sitting around and contemplating each move anyone makes does not make it true. No one is supposed to know the time or date or anything of the sort. It could be tomorrow it could be years from now. I don't worry about it because it's going to happen one way or another if that is what is supposed to happen. It shouldn't change how people live their life like it so obviously does.

Yet we are to be aware of the signs of the times according to Jesus so that the day will not take us by surprise. So while we do not know the Day nor the Hour we shouldn't be blindly ignorant to the approaching day as birthing pains to a pregnant woman tells us of the soon arrival of a baby.

Jim,

In the Bible it says that people will mock and make fun of those who try to warn of the end times. It also says that the super power countries of the world will form . Now, while I am not a scholar of any subject, I will stand by you on this subject.

Remember Noah. When he was building the ark, by God's design, what happened? The people mocked, made fun of.."lol'ed" him (in respose to the person that said this thread was nothing but a big "lol".) But what happened to the people? They drowned.

So, if you believe that what you are posting is true and you know that by the Word of God, which is true, then I say, go forth and tell the people. They will mock and make fun of you (and me) but you have done what God has commisioned you so do and their blood is not on your hands.

Susan, Thank you for the encouragement and of course I don't really care how much people mock or make fun of me and the message that I believe sincerely belief needs to be preached before this world that is so lost in darkness and in need of the Savior. As you stated I am sure they laughed at Noah, mock Jeremiah, and ridiculed John the Baptist not to mention they crucified the Lord of Glory. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (2 Peter 3:3-10 KJV)

I would imagine that those who rejected the truth of Noah tried to cling to the floating debris and drowned because they willfully rejected the warnings of a Holy and Righteous God. I am sure that the people of Jerusalem as judgment reigned down upon them wished they listened to the prophet Jeremiah instead they perished in the wrath of a God. I remember the words of our Lord who said...O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. (Luke 13:34-35 KJV)

Sadly, many people will stand in the Day of the Lord weeping and wailing because they have not heard or understood the Word of Prophecy that God has tried to communicate to their hard and callous hearts. I pray that just one would hear and understand the dire need for repentance and their need of salvation from the wrath to come.

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: (Ezekiel 11:19 KJV)

So let them laugh and let them scorn but more than anything "LET GOD BE TRUE, AND EVERY MAN A LIAR.

Evidently I am not the only one who can see the significance in this need for a so called Peace agreement between the Arabs and Israel..Here is what the Jordan (the Nation) said concerning this...Jordan: Israel Faces War If It Does Not Agree To Arab Terms

Israel faces all-out war within 18 months if it does not come to terms with the Arab world and allow the establishment of a new Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem, according to Jordan’s King Abdullah II. The Hashemite monarch also declared on America’s Meet the Press television program Sunday that threats from Iran and Al Qaeda will fade away once Jerusalem is divided. His position basically echoed the Palestinian Authority (PA) stand that its demands are a condition for peace and are not a matter for negotiation, despite diplomatic and media language about Israel and the PA each making concessions. The king responded to virtually every question concerning the Middle East by pointing to Jerusalem. “In Arab and Muslim minds, the most emotional aspect is the Palestinian cause and that of Jerusalem. And from there leads all the other problems,” he argued. When program host David Gregory asked if it’s not a “fantasy’ to think that the problem of Al Qaeda will disappear so easily, the Jordanian monarch answered, ”What — what is Al Qaeda’s platform is — is the plight of the Palestinians in Jerusalem under occupation.”

Since Christ died people have been predicting the Anti-Christ to be someone of their generation. Although if he were to come in our lifetime I wouldn't be surprised if it were Obama, frankly.
