Oh, I remember the slime show! One was called "Slime Time Live". Didn't love it, but I still watched it. It came on during commercial breaks between the good shows like Aaahh!!! Real Monsters. ;D

Gosh, I haven't even replied to my own question!

I was born in England and have always lived here. I live in Warwickshire, in a small village just outside of Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare country woo!), which is coincidentally my council so it makes more sense to just say I come from there. I have only been to Wales, but have found majority of the Welsh tend to be friendlier than your average English man.

I have mixed opinions of the place. I love the countryside and how quaint the villages are. I especially love the Cotswolds with that golden stone they use for building the houses. I love the typical 'English country cottage' look. Also, on a sunny day, the countryside is strikingly beautiful. It makes you happy to be alive. I like how majority of us are mild mannered and polite, and how drivers will wave pedestrians across the road (happens to me every day so I felt I should include it!). I like that the drinking age is 18. I love the amount of history we have; our castles and museums and old streets. I like the fact that we have the OU who are letting me study for free.

I don't like our government, nor any of the other parties. I hate how every town in the UK could be somewhere else. So many towns are losing their individuality. I hate the 60s style of architecture which seems to dominate every cityscape. I HATE the price of public transport! I am not happy with the current education system and how much universities are allowed to charge. I also really dislike going clubbing now and being harassed by little boys who are barely out of school, pissed off their face. I am all for going out and having a good time, but the amount of drunk chavs I have to mingle with to have said good time is ridiculous!

I don't mind living here, but I have always had a better experience in other European countries. I would like to live abroad one day, although I'm not sure how well I could cope without the brilliant invention that is the NHS!

I think of Harry Potter, *SHUDDER*
You English! (yes I mean all of Brittain ;) ) running around getting burnt and complaining at the same time.. Geez!

Can't say I've ever really thought, "OOooh! Let's go to London for a holiday", ever.
Would be cool to visit, I don't think I could EVER live there. I think I'd get depressed from the lack of beach or warm nights on the driveway.

Few things I do like from Brittain,
Ash, Trap Door, making the rest of the world better looking!!!! OHH!!!

Would just like to point out that we do have coasts (we are after all, an ISLAND) and said coasts are often covered in sand, making those said coasts beaches...

Also, I would rather stick needles in my eyes than go on holiday to London!! Lol. I'd much rather prefer the gorgeous weather of the South West, i.e Devon and Cornwall! I actually couldn't stop laughing at this post - it might have been written on purpose - but so many people do think Britain stops existing once you leave London and it makes me giggle.

I don't think the beaches would compare to the ones here in Australia, I heard of surfing competitions at Cornwall, but I don't think I'd travel around the world just to go surfing when I can do it here.
Yeah I know theres heaps of places apart from London, it was just an example.
I still think I'd rather go somewhere like South America, India, Thailand or anywhere where they don't speak too much english (if any). That's just me though.

Yes it's an island, just not a nice hot surfy one, haha, somehow I just don't think the beach in BriTain would be the same.

I really want to visit the UK, mostly to immerse myself in its history. I'm from a young country, so the very idea of Medieval castles and the like is rather exciting :P

Ooh you'd love Warwick castle, yo! It's near me and they have so many exhibitions and stuff going on, it's fascinating. You can even go down to the dungeons. I love it so! Last time I went it was thunderstorming too which added to the atmosphere ten fold! If you're interested, the web site is here.

we rock.

however that would be maybe because i don't live there anymore.
I am english. I like free healthcare (but not the waiting times for it!). i love cadburys chocolate... nothing will ever beat it for me. I love the history, the old castles.. the tracing back the family tree to a few hundred years to a little village somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I like our humor, our politeness and ability to stand in queue(you've no idea until you get to a country where they don't!!) our midwives instead of doctors for delivering babies, our nonautomatic peircing of baby girls (ugh i can't stand babies with peircings)
and probably more.

I don't like the ignorance when it comes to anyone who is of a different race/colour/speaks another language etc

Totally could not handle the ridiculous price of your McDonalds
Would love to one day travel around and see a lot of the history
Think the old style english houses I've seen on "Escape to the Country" are too damn small lol!
Absolutely find it hilarious that you guys seem to LOVE Neighbours so much.. hahah

Heeeey! How rude. :P It makes me wonder what sort of Scottish accent exactly you've heard though. You've got Scottish relatives, right?

Although, that said, I hate strong Glaswegian accents, and I can't even understand a Dundonian accent myself. Thankfully despite being from Glasgow I don't have a proper Glasgow accent, mine is more soft west coast. A bit like Ashley Jenson's accent.

And we DO love Neighbours. I'm hardly home early enough to see it these days, but I did go to Ramsay Street when I was in Melbourne, and not one, but two Neighbours parties (the pub quiz they have for all the tourists once a week in St Kilda, with some of the cast members). They were great fun!

Haha my boyfriend's parents are from Glasgow... his mom grew up in Easterhouse even (gosh I watched a programme about the gangs there once... scary stuff!). And when I first met them, gosh I had no idea what they were saying! I just had to smile politely and nod along! ;D

And my mom has tried to get me into Neighbours countless times but she always fails. Every one of my friends loves it. I just find everyone so whiny in it!

Am I right in thinking when you say lollies, you mean what we'd just call sweets (and I guess Americans would call candy)? When we say lollies we mean lollipops, but I think I remember Aussies using it to mean sweets.

We do definitely do good sweets, especially chocolate. It tastes funny in Australia though, because they have to put something in it to stop it melting.

Yes! You are right... candy here are lollies... lollipops are... lollipops... lol!

There is a British Lolly Shop down in Surfers Paradise. Stupid prices, so over priced... yet we still go there and spent oodles of money haha.
