My moms side is German and Irish.
My dads side is American Indian.

I have a lot of German in me. My brother got the tanning side like my dad lol. I burn bright red and then turn back to white.... like my mom lol.

Haha well I appear to have typical Irish skin, but if I start off with like a factor 35 sun lotion on holiday, by the second week I can get down to factor 10 and tan really nicely, but I'd need more than 2 weeks to go properly tanned. If I don't start off with a high factor I burn something awful though! The key is to get a base tan first ;)
The good thing is that I don't go orange like so many Brits do when they tan, I go this weird honey colour haha. But both my parents have natural olive skin, the bastards! ;D

I don't know any further back than Grandparents but...

My Dad's Scottish - his parents were Scottish and so was his Grandad but his Grandmother was Northern Irish.
My Mum was English - her parents are English and so were her Grandparents.

I'm very British!

I really don't know much about mine. My dad's name is English, and my mom's maiden name is Scottish. And somehow both sides of my family ended up in the same tiny town in rural Georgia! :-P

My mother's maiden name was Duff. I've seen information suggesting it could be of Irish or Scottish origin (I find that a bit confusing! Does that make sense to you? but I've never really researched it ). As I said though, I really don't know much about where our families came from originally. My paternal grandfather died before my parents even married and mty maternal grandmother died when I was 10. It is something I am curious about though.

Duffy is Irish. And MacDuff is Scottish. But if I'm right, Duff could be either Scottish or Irish.

Yes, Duffy is definitely Irish. I know that. It's Duff I'm not sure of. Because MacDuff is Scottish and Duff could have come from either Duffy or MacDuff, I'd assume Duff could be either Scottish or Irish.

My surname is Guest and it was apparently the name given to travellers or newcomers. I harbour dreams of secretly being Romany gypsy, because it sounds so exotic, although I am pretty sure it's just a dull English name. Although one of the earliest surnames ever recorded in England!
