this is all getting to be childish. for one, why are we still discussing this? drop it. take people off your friends list that you dont want to read, and move on with your life. those who keep worrying about it, MOVE ON AS WELL! do we all not have better things to do? seriously.

if she wants to feed her child babyfood at a young age, let her. we've all told her the risks and have given our advice. she obviously doesnt want it.

if she wants to fly to california to be with a guy she's never met, let her. once again, we've all given adivce & highlighted the risks. she obviously doesnt want to listen.

and, if she wants to continue to carry on about this stupid subject of her being the topic of bloop, EVERYDAY, then let her. but, lets all stop giving unwanted adivce & fighting a non-winning battle. its getting old...

personally, i would rather see FUN FORUMS...like, baby pictures, the view from your front door, your desktop pictures, favorite holiday memories...not this childish shit.

i've left my nice comments & given my advice. im not here to please anyone, like me or not. thats how it should be with EVERYONE!

I SECOND THAT! This thread is pointless.

No offense, Momma@19 or Darenda or whatever I am allowed to call you, but it is a public diary site. People are going to judge you, whether you like it or not. So if you aren't going to filter out who can judge you, then you are going to find a few people who make it known that they don't necessarily care for you.

And that's perfectly fine that they make it known. But the sad thing is going to dear anonymous to write multiple entries about me and my daughter.

Given there are tons of people that don't like me for how I raise my daughter, but I do not see that as a right to be as pathetic and ignorant and just own up to what they think of me

i agree, writing about it anonymously isnt the most mature thing to do, but those people are all over this world & our job is to just ignore them & let them be. be the better person & just ignore them. it pisses them off more when they dont get a repsonse.

YOU are the mother, they are not. they only continue to do it bcuz everyone is giving them a response.

i agree that they shouldnt degrade you in the dear anonymous diary but i still think that you sohuld listen to your ped and doctor and not feed your baby , baby food unless they are the apporpriate age. they alot of times say that because babies bodies cannot digest the food and or they can be allergic or become allergic to the food. its okay for a taste.. but not as food to feed the baby. it dont matter if its once or everyday or 3 times a day, dont do it.. you were told no. why you feed it to your child is beyond me, you may be her mother but alot of mothers can harm their children, kill there children, then wonder why they did it later on in life and regret that they ever did something. You are not a professional doctor to say what is good for your child. You may give her love, food, clothing, whatever else. but listen to other people other then yourself. Take advice, i bet you could read every child book and it says no baby food till at least 4 months or 3 months sometimes because of the allergic reactions and whatnot. its not good. dont do it.. its simple. why give your child something that can potentially harm them? what kind of mother would you be to give your child something that could harm them? thats like pinching your child then saying IT WILL ONLY MAKE HER STRONGER SO LATER IN LIFE SHE WONT DO IT TO SOMEONE ELSE... be real.

I HAVE talked to people about this subject and for all they know she's on formula only right now. Whether I'm still feeding her baby food or not needs to stop being the main topic. No one lives my everyday life and doesn't need or deserve to know everything that goes on. People were so excited for Charity to be here, so I share them apart of mine and her life and it blows up in my face.

You say to take advice, and I have took some advice and some of it I haven't. I will NOT raise my child by a book. That sounds amazingly ignorant. I do not have a doctors degree but I am taking very good care of my daughter. I have read the risks and have taken advice. But raising my child by a book? No.

But I do thank you for your opinion.

i would have to disagree with you. i dont think people are saying to raise your child by a book, i think you got the wrong impression. while you are pregnant most doctors give you the WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARE EXPECTING book, for MOST women...its like their bible for those 9 months. then, there is the series after you give birth, WHAT TO EXPECT THE 1ST YEAR, WHAT TO EXPECT TODDLER YEARS, and so on, all the way into TEENAGE YEARS. and, i know for myself, those books were amazing to read as a 1st time mom. i know they helped a lot of my friends also. --im not sure if you've read them, but i would highly suggest it. and, its not "raising your child by a book" its just a self-help book.

Yes, I received the book, and glanced through it. I believe that women don't need books to raise their kids.

My mom and my friends were my help when I had issues while pregnant. The book was useless to me.

So if your doctor or a book says on a childs medicine, do not exceed the stated does, I assume you'll go and ignore that too?

If she IS on formula now, then why not just tell US that, and this will stop? Given how much you say you want to stop hearing about it, then it would be very easy to do.

well most peopole dont want to drop the issue because its somethign that could in turn harm your child. i would hope your child is on formula right now only. a taste here and there wont hurt but feeding snacks to baby as baby food isnt as so right right now as she is to young for that. i do understand these are advice and that you dont need to do them, as she is your child and you will do as you please with her. throw her in a garbage bag whatever, do what you want with her. we cant stop you from doing so. Im not saying you are a bad mother at all. im just saying you dont need to raise your child when everyone is saying dont feed her baby food and you in turn be rebellious and feed her waht everyone says not to. . we are only looking out for her best interest whether you want it to be or not. i would far more listen to a doctor then go by my own rules. if as it may not hurt her now, sometimes babies develope an allergy to the food you feed them when they are small. thats why they are not fed to them at such a small age and also not fed to them as it can harm them as their stomachs cannot digest it.. but whatever. you dont want the issue brought up. then dont seek attention in a forum you'll get many opinons from many different people good and bad. do what you want, its not like our saying is going to cause you any feeling to change your mind anyway right?

A taste here and there was what she was/is getting. I am not giving her alot, I am just trying to see what she'll like. It's not like I'm fixing her a bowl of that and letting that be all she has.

Your beliefs and mine are very different.

But you're right, anything anybody says is not going to change my mind. It's not that I'm being rebellious....when I think I'm doing something wrong, I'll change. But I am not harming my child.

ACTUALLY, a 'taste here and there' COULD be enough to harm her! Her immune system is still developing... these are things she should NOT be getting exposed to AT ALL.

And your last statement is very concerning. The doctor has already advised you not to feed her that stuff but you're CHOOSING to ignore it. That is just very foolish. You're playing with your child's life.

I dunno redfraggle. My aunt and uncle fed their children baby food and they are very healthy.
I personally think that darenda is a very good mother. I understand your need for concern, But your not there living in her home. Just because she writes an entry in HER diary. Doesn't mean that You all have a right to past judgement. After all, You don't know her. god shall judge thee.
so people should just leave her alone.

RED FRAGGLE SAID 'COULD'. JUST LIKE SMOKING COULD GIVE YOU LUNG CANCER, BUT THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE WHO SMOKE WHO DON'T GET IT. A HALE AND HEARTY SMOKER IN HIS 90S ISN'T PROOF THAT SMOKING DOESN'T GIVE PEOPLE LUNG CANCER, ANY MORE THAN YOUR AUNT AND UNCLE ARE PROOF THAT BABY FOOD DOESN'T HARM BABIES.

THE THING IS, IF PEOPLE POST PUBLICLY ABOUT THEIR LIVES AND ENABLE ANYONE TO COMMENT, ANYONE CAN GIVE AN OPINION OR A JUDGEMENT. THAT'S HOW DIARY COMMUNITIES WORK. IF PEOPLE DON'T WANT THAT, THEY SHOULD DISABLE COMMENTS, OR GO FO, OR BLOCK CERTAIN PEOPLE.

are they under four months? that's why people are concerned. baby food is fine, but for the first few months all they can handle is milk. that's why most people seem to be up in arms over it.

You may not know, Eye-Lee-Uh, but I DO. I'm a doctor. There is plenty of medical evidence to suggest that feeing a baby anything other than milk at this stage puts them at risk of allergies (which could potentially be life threatening) later. The fact that your aunt and uncle's babies were fed baby food and are healthy means NOTHING. OF COURSE not EVERY child fed solids earlier than 4 months will develop allergies, but it certainly increases their risk. And why would any responsible mother want to RISK putting her child's life at risk, when it's easier just NOT to feed them it?

I'm not passing judgement on her as a mother, I'm just desperately trying to help stop her from (unintentionally) harming her child. It is very difficult for me as a doctor to watch her doing something which could harm her, and just ignore it. Her child could DIE from anaphylaxis due to allergies. This isn't a minor point on the best type of mothering... she could DIE!

She's already been told this by her own doctor, but it seems she thinks she knows better, as she's already said in her diary that she's ignoring the advice from her doctor. I think that is a very stupid decision. But I don't know her as a person, and I have nothing against HER. I just want to help protect her child. (And I have always been polite in my attempts to do so)

If you won't believe me... then I suggest you read the evidence. At least then you are being properly informed before making a decision... (They may also help you understand things better, since you don't seem to be understanding what I am trying to tell you)
