Interestingly enough, these relationships might not end before these girls are 40. Also, why are 40 year old women resentful? If those men are too immature to date women their own age, why are they mad over it?

I can't help but to agree. A 20-year old dating a 40 year old is nice NOW...but when she's 40, and he's pushing 60 and might not be able to do nearly as much as she'd like - it might create some problems.

Especially if at 30, she'd like kids, and he's already 50. Not only is that not healthy for him, but it also makes him almost 70 when his youngest child graduates.

No thanks.

I'm 23 years old and my guy is 37. We've been together for four years now and we have a great relationship. I don't see what the problem is. If both people in the relationship are good with communication, enjoy each other's company, etc, then i don't see any problem.

My mum was 32 when I was born, my dad 51, 20 years later, no problems what so ever.

I agree quite strongly with the issues raised here. Age is not just a number. It's very important to consider that people want and need different things at different stages of their life, and often a large age gap can make those things incompatible. It's nice to think that love conquers all, but if you're twenty and your man is forty, what happens when you start to want children?

What happens to the children who were born when their father is fifty and so have a sixty-eight year old man as a father by the time they're eighteen? Not everyone can maintain a healthy lifestyle, so you have to face the fact that these children might see their father die young. You also have to consider if at fifty you're prepared to potentially be taking care of a seventy year old.

I'm not saying by any means that people shouldn't be with someone much older than them - indeed I've seen it work very well with some couples. But you need to be honest with yourself and with each other about what you need, and what the other half can provide.

I've never been interested in older men. Maybe slightly older, but never anything more than 2 years.
I don't think I could date more than 2 years either way, I'm just not sure what I'd have in common
with someone so much older. I know it works for some people, but it's never for me. I'd also wonder
what a much older guy wanted with me!! lol :):)

I love older men! Alan Rickman allll the way!

I'm with somebody who is 6 years older than me. I was 16 and he was 22 when we first started dating. We got a lot of hell from people about it too.

I see nothing wrong with this.
Cliché but age is just a number.
If it makes you happy then go for it.
It's your life :)

This is pretty nice to know that people are not only tolerant, but condone dating between generations. It's going to be awesome -- when I turn 40, I'll dump whomever I'm with for a 20 year old. Then when I'm 50, I'll dump whomever I'm with for a 20 year old. Then when I'm 60, I'll dump whomever I'm with for a 20 year old.

ABSOLUTELY, YO - I DO BELIEVE PEOPLE ALSO CONDONE DATING SOMEONE WHO IS EXCITINGLY ATTRACTIVE AND SEXY. SO THIS MEANS YOU CAN CONSTANTLY DUMP WHOMEVER YOU'RE WITH FOR SOMEONE SEXIER AND MORE ATTRACTIVE WHENEVER THE INITIAL ATTRACTION WEARS OFF. A NEW MODEL EVERY YEAR, YO! OR EVERY MONTH. OR EVERY WEEK!
