OMG so much has happened! Piper is growing so quickly, I cannot believe that she's nearly 3 months old! She smiles all the time, and she loves to tell stories. Of course, I have no idea what any of them mean, but apparently they are hilarious, judging by her giggles and squeals.
We went up north to Josh's parents' place last month. Piper was a dream on our flights, I could not have asked for a better travel baby. We were up there for 2 weeks, which was a long time not to be in my own space, but I know that Josh loved being with his family and it was wonderful for them to meet Piper.
Last week my coworkers had a shower for us. The work girls always wait until baby is born and grown a little, so they can all meet the kiddo and pass them around for snuggles. Two other moms on maternity leave came and brought their babies, Celena was born in November and Noah in March. It was really nice to see the little ones at their diffferent stages, and great to visit with coworkers I haven't really seen since they had their babies.
I'm trying to cut the apron strings a little, and in the process make Joshua step up more, but I have to admit it's hard. I love to snuggle her all the time, and love on her, and I certainly prefer breastfeeding to pumping, so I've got a bit of a frozen supply, but I should likely have more.
I just changed our RSVP to a wedding in October. Back when I was pregnant, the bride told me that they weren't keen on kids at the wedding, but that she really wanted me there so a baby wouldn't be a big deal. I double-checked with her today (before booking our hotel, thank goodness) and she said that she didn't want to be a dick but she had to enforce the "no children" rule across the board. I totally understand, and don't hold it against her at all, but considering the RSVP deadline is in 2 days, I had to respectfully bow out. It's entirely possible that by then, I'd be cool leaving Piper with my mom while we went out of town for the weekend, but I honestly can't see it, and I don't want to put pressure on us like "omg we have this wedding in a week, better get comfortable leaving the baby." Better to play it safe, at least this way Dee knows her numbers and we're not backing out and feeling guilty at the last minute. She was very understanding, and I know from our own wedding that when you set certain paramaters (ours was destination, theirs is no kids) you have to accept that your choice may eliminate some guests' ability to come. There, I've ranted it all out, I've come to terms with my decision, I'm at peace with what's best for my family.
Piper is in bed, that kid sleeps like a champ! She's been sleeping through since she was 6 weeks old. I am praying that this 4 month sleep regression garbage I've heard so much about manages to skip us.
And now, because she's so damn cute, some pics that most of y'all have likely already seen on social media anyway.

(Because I obviously suck at updating this thing, if anyone actually cares to see Piper's ridiculously cute clothes and keep up with our happenings, you should follow me on Instagram. This kid has nicer clothes than I do, and it would be a shame not to share her cuteness with the world.)

The 4 month sleep regression thing hit us for maybe a week? It didn't last long at all. We've had a harder time transitioning him to his toddler bed than we did through his growth spurts. Teething sucked at night because, as well as he handled it, it still messed with his sleep but we are FINALLY done cutting teeth Now that his last molar is almost completely through. That is one milestone I will be happy to have passed.

She's absolutely adorable, I can't even stand it. And that flower dress?? Oh goodness. Love.

Isn't it just the cutest? A friend with 3 boys sent it as soon as she heard we'd had a girl. She was just waiting for an excuse to buy something so frilly and feminine.

She is so freaking cute!! I can't handle the outfits! I have a girl, too and I so badly miss the tiny baby clothes.

Mine slept like a dream and didn't hit a regression until around her 1st birthday. Hope you skip that stage!

She is so cute!! Thor is a great sleeper too! We got lucky.

I don't blame you for not attending the wedding.

I am so scared of the four month sleep regression! So many people in my birth month group are going through hell!

You know, I've no idea. Lol. Unless I sell a ton of stuff I probably won't keep up with it. I'd love to, but I don't think it's going to happen. It'll fade nicely and it'll get cut out.

RYC: Thank you. I am just so happy he won't remember any of this. I hope he heals completely. He's still got blood on his retinas but I am hoping and praying it absorbs. He has lots of doctors appointments and therapy. Literally living my worst nightmare.

How have you been??
