What is wrong with me??

07/10/2012

Naive

I know that I am very inexperienced when it comes to relationships. My first "boyfriend" was a short relationship that ended when he hit me and gave me a concussion. I ended up getting a restraining order against him (sorry if I'm repeating myself here) and didn't date for four years (hmmm...there's that 4 year thing again!). When I finally started dating, the first person I met was my ex-husband...and we all know how that turned out. That's it. I'm 42 years old and I've had TWO boyfriends. Yeah, I know, it's kind of pathetic.

I know I need to let Gaspar go, but it's hard when he constantly calls me "hun" and "babe". Do people who are just "friends" do that? Maybe this is normal in the hispanic culture and do not mean the same as how I would use them? Why does this have to be so confusing?? So, we haven't texted each other much over the past few days. But Gaspar talked to me at work today and said that he's really starting to get concerned about the fact that once he stops moving he falls asleep...and stays asleep for a very long period of time. He ended up sleeping most of yesterday and last night (thus why I didn't hear from him). I've given him the advice of having a physical and getting some bloodwork done to make sure that something strange isn't going on and even suggested that maybe he's anemic (he eats very poorly). But, you know men, they won't go to the doctor unless they're dying (and sometimes not even then!).

So, tonight, I asked him if something else was going on. I wanted to know if he was mad at me or avoiding me. His response was "never that, I could never be mad at u hun". See, there's that word again. So, I flat out told him "You have become one of my closest friends and I love you to death. When we go awhile without texting I get worried that you're upset with me". (Realize that we've texted every day for the past 6 months, so yeah, it's unusual to not hear from him). His response was simply "i love u 2". I'm sure he means it just as a friend....or does he? Why do men have to be so difficult to understand?? I don't use the L word unless I truly mean it on some level. Should I just trust that he's the same way?? (I swear, sometimes I feel like a teenager in the love department...young and stupid!)

Mario is the same way- he calls me "Mija" and it makes me sad....because that is what he use to call me when he supposedly cared. Yesterday he came home from work before going to pick p his daughter and came up to my room to say hello. I was watching a movie and so he sat down and watched the rest with me. He made a wise crack and I chirped back and he rolled over to tickle me- and grabbed my ass and boob- I was shocked. I asked him if he grabbed every girl he was friends with like that- and mentioned his best friends wifes name and he said "no, why would I?" I replied "I dont know, why did you just grab mine?" He got defensive and left the room. I hate men now..

Yep...I was here!

you might be naive but you have good intuition...at least you have been really spot on for a very short amount of time readin my diary, so much so that I am fairly impressed...so use that with yourself, I've said this but I will say it again, you know if he desires you or not in the way you would like him too...you do know this inside. It is my sincere belief that if he wanted anything more then friendship he would have made his intentions clear by now...they do that, they are primal. grunt, me man, me want you woman. But if you don't think he has that in him for some reason and you are really and sincerely still confused...PLEASE JUST ASK HIM FOR GOD'S SAKE. It's ok, its perfectly ok and it needs to be done. "so hey Gasper, buddy ole pal, I was wondering if you thought our relationship could be anything more than friendship?" He will either look at you like his team just lost the world series or he will look at you like his team just lost the world series. Etither way, you will know. He will either say well I um, thought it was um kind of um already like that um gees grunt grunt...or he will say something dumb to state that he wants to be just friends. DO NOT DO THIS HOWEVER UNTIL YOU HAVE RECIEVED EVERY SINGLE PENNY GASPER BUDDY OWES YOU.

Words are just that. Words. I had a guy fake a whole relationship once.
Interestingly enough, Harley does the sleep thing all the time, and it's impossible to rouse him, lol!

Goodluck figuring things out I hope he is not playing with your emotions or giving you the run around. Ah well you will figure it sooner or later. Just try giving him some space and see how he reacts.

Ask him directly men are not good at innuendo

He went before for two Weeks and then he quit because we found out he could get the same education from a more reputable school for a third if the cost. But I agree its something I need to decide.

RYC: You just make sure you're getting it in other ways aside from dairy. I'm dairy free because my youngest guy has a sensitivity/intolerance to dairy and eating it makes him break out in a nasty skin rash as well as aggravates his acid reflux and makes him quite grumpy. But there are a lot of veggies that are high in calcium and select nuts are high in calcium also.

It's gonna be rough on him I'm sure. I'm hoping it all can work out though at least for a while and then maybe he can choose between them if he has to

I was looking at it on the map. I live in Jacksonville, Florida. and it takes me 30 minutes to get from one side of town to another. And thats not even fully across the city. LOL. I want like a super short drive. I hate living in the biggest city land wise. From one part of the city to another is probably an hour and a half from county line to the ocean, or north county line to the south of the county line. Its crazy! And so, I want a super short commute. I was looking at cities west of Chicago. Addison, Elmhurst(where my job would be located) or cities around there. I dont think I will get the job though. So I probably wont be moving.

My advice is just flat out ask him what he really means. And say if it's just friendship, that's fine. And if it's more than friendship, heck that's just fine too!

RYC: Yes, he's a wonderful musician and a great showman. His concerts are something else.

If I could find a job there that would pay for relocation- I would move in a heartbeat. I honestly dont care where we land- just want out of Texas!!

Yep...I was here!

Some guys!
RYC: Glad you love Andre too. Some people say he's too "populist". Well, even if he is, he puts on a damn good show.
Sorry I took so long to reply to your comment.
Take care.

lol I respectfully disagree I don't consider myself "hippie" whatsoever, haha. Like, other than our parenting style, we're probably the least hippie-like family I've ever known.
