Everything a Millennial Could Ask For

09/13/2020

I have everything a millennial could ever ask for.

I'm married. I have a house that I own and pay a mortgage on. I have my own car. I have a job with such ridiculous benefits that I'm not even sure where to begin (16-week fully paid paternity leave for starters). I have the coolest kid I've ever known. I'm a head and shoulders above the rest in my generation, because of the help of my family.

So why am I always so depressed?

Having everything doesn't make you happy. Depression is a chemical imbalance. You need to talk to your doctor.

Do you have any recommendations? I can't find a single psychiatrist in South Florida with halfway decent reviews, and I don't know if therapy/behavioral psychology is going to cut it with this one.

We live in a society that always demands more of us. When we get everything it’s normal to be depressed because we don’t know what to strive for next.

Also, post partum depression isn’t just for new mothers, fathers can get it as well.
