I think I might have found a blank quarter. I received it as change at a Walmart, and instantly noticed it. Curious if it was an actual blank planchet or just a counterfeit someone used, I did some research. apparently, if I do have an authentic blank planchet, it could be worth some $$. I have been staring at it for a bit now, comparing it to a real quarter. The blank has no indentation of the Washington head or the Eagle, or anything else on the faces of the blank. The edges are somewhat raised, but not significantly. The blank also doesnt have the reeded edge either, however, it is a perfect size match to a regular quarter, and the blank also has the bronze coloring on the outside edge just like a regular quarter. Could I possibly have a blank quarter? How common are these in circulation? Where could I take it to be looked at? |
